Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri / Eid al-Fitr

Best wishes and Eid al-Fitr to my Muslim friends. =p

*Jemputlah I ke rumah. I off Raya Kedua. Hehehe. =p*

Happy Wesak Day

It’s Wesak Day again today.

I don’t know why but every year, when Wesak Day is here, I will feel certain kind of calmness and peace.

It’s the spiritual feeling that hard to describe.

I’m glad I’m off today May 5 on Wesak Day. Coincidently today marks my second month of working in the media.

So what’s the plan today? As usual I wake up late. Then I’ll go to temples to pray, get free vegetarian good and Dhamma books.

I think I’ll go to a few temples to take pictures as well since I haven’t send my camera for repair yet.

The finale of Wesak will be the grand procession tonight from the Malaysian Buddhist Association at Burma Road.

I’ve never missed the procession ever since I started watching it as a kid then volunteered as a first aider during secondary school.

Not to forget, the prayers I will be making for my grandparents, parents, siblings, girlfriend, friends, Malaysia and the world.

Anyway, I hope with this Wesak Day, everyone will be blessed and the country will be peaceful again. No more violence anymore. We may not have wars with other countries or terrorists, but we have conflicts between its people and the government. May the evils are back to the track and be good again.

Happy Wesak Day.

*There will be traffic jams everywhere. So plan your route. Penangites stay at home if you don't wana be pissed. Or you can always use bike like me. Save time and cheaper. hahaha.*

multicultural beautiful Penang

Penang is a very good example of unity, high social awareness, development, green initiative and most importantly a melting pot of multi-culturalism and a diverse society where people regardless of their differences in religion, custom, belief, race, age, gender and political divide come together in whatever occasions. And in these few days, the spirit of Penangites is shown again where we celebrate non-stop festivals from Maulidul Rasul to Chap Goh Meh to Thaipusam and many more.

This is why I am proud being a Penangite.

We against extremism and racism.

I am made to be muhibbah and i have friends from all kind of backgrounds.

Penang is such a beautiful island. =p

Happy Deepavali. Selamat Hari Deepavali. Deepavali Nalvazhthukkal

Oh Chin Eng aka OCE would like to wish everyone especially his Hindu friends Happy Deepavali. Everyone should go and pay visit to our Indian friends and experience the harmony living in Malaysia.

Let this festival of light lighten up and open up our hearts to humanity, humility, modesty, respect and acceptance towards each other.

Let's celebrate it altogether in peace, joy and harmony.

I wish that today will be a day without extremism, racism, bigotry, biasness and discrimination.

Happy Deepavali to all my friends. May your Deepavali this year be a very good one.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I am a Chinese, a Malaysian Chinese but I have been celebrating Deepavali since primary school, as far as I can remember.

I celebrate Hari Raya and Christmas as well. It’s part of me. By celebrating all these festivals, it does not make me any less Chinese or I’m trying to embrace other religion. This perception is totally wrong.

Actually I am sad that I can’t visit my friends in Penang this year.

I wish I am in Penang right now. But I am stuck here in Kampar. I need to finish up my Final Year Project before I can submit it next Monday. I am sorry to my Indian friends in Penang.

I wanted to go to my classmate’s house in Kuala Kangsar but it’s just too far la. Maybe next time ok Saravani? =p

This is the price you have to pay to produce a good work. This is also the responsibilities you have to bear to graduate. Some friends have gone back hometown and put aside their FYP but I better don’t do that.

I am feeling bored right nw. where to go? I don’t have class from today, Wednesday, 26/10/2011 until this Sunday.

Mana boleh deepavali tak pergi rumah kawan, tak makan muruku, tak pakai baju India. Ayooo, I cannot oo. I am not gona stuck in my hostel!

Come on OCE!

OCE is good at making the best out of what he has la! OCE can adapt easily to the environment and society! OCE can survive anywhere he goes! OCE can OCE is good at exploring. OCE is multi-talented!

Hahaha!

Alright I’m going to kaypo now.

If anyone of u in Kampar going anywhere to celebrate Deepavali, let me know ok. I don’t mind to follow. =p

Happy Deepavali. Selamat Hari Deepavali. Deepavali Nalvazhthukkal.

Deepavali send-off

Deepavali is coming again and it’s tomorrow.

I’m still thinking whether to go back to Penang but I feel I won’t because I don’t have the time. I have to submit my FYP next Monday.

Oh I miss Penang, my Indian friends and their Deepavali delicacies.

So I might be going to Sara’s house tomorrow. Or I’ll just to go Kampar Indians house la.

I fetched my classmate to the bus-stop tomorrow. Poovan has gone back earlier for Deepavali although we have class today. It’s a boring class, so it’s ok to ponteng. =p

My 3 years of studies here is gona end soon. I remember I used to fetch Poovan around as he does not own a bike here. I’m happy to do that.

That’s what friend is for. You are there all the time. but some people eventhough they are there, they are not willing to lend a hand.

Let this festival of light lighten up and open up our hearts to humanity, humility, modesty, respect and acceptance towards each other.

Let's celebrate it altogether with in peace, joy and harmony.

Happy Deepavali to all my friends. May your Deepavali be a very good one.

Thanks to Edmund Lee, the one who snap snap.

Mid-Autumn Festival falls on September 12 this year which is also the 15th day of the 8th month in Chinese Lunar Calender.

Hopfully the sky will be clear tomorrow night so that i can stare at the round bright moon long-long.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri

Wohooo! Finally it’s Hari Raya! Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitiri buat semua rakan tak kira di mana anda berada. Hati-hati kalau balik kampung. Makanlah byk2 sampai perut buncit. Sekiranya ada silap n salah, percakapan atau perbuatan, saya minta maaf byk2. Semoga Raya ini penuh dgn kemaafan, keinsafan, keamanan, cinta dan kasih sayang.

Everytime whenver it's Raya or Deepavali, i will sure go back to Penang. Never miss! But this Raya, i'm working. I'll only be back on the 3rd Raya.

Friends asked me before, why do i want to spend money travel home? Raya and Deepavali is not even my celebrations. Eh, i celebrate. I feel so awkward for not celebrating it. Raya and Deepavali are already part of my culture. I'll visit my friends during these festivals.

At the end, i'm the few Chinese who will go back hometown, the rest, stay in the hostel and do their own things or go back for holidays.

I miss home la.

My friends in Penang, wait for me, i'm coming home.. soon!

I guess i'll go back on Wednesday la although i supposed to work. I'll apply for MC or emergency leave la ok. haha. September 6 i must be in uni. I don't wana stay in KL then straight to uni for internship presentation. If i don't go back Penang now, i have to wait till 11th because 11th i need to be in KL for an event.

Blablabla i talk too much. Ok set, i'm going back to Penang then Kampar then KL. At least i can rest in Penang, meet up my friends and spend time with family.

Sweet and Sour of Xmas 2010

1)      Fire blazed 5 houses in Teluk Bahang and I was there, very fast, one of the first ‘reporters’ to be there. After 1.5 hours only the media arrived.
2)      I hurt my foot. I stepped onto either glass or nail.
3)      Went to Feli’s house for Xmas lunch.
4)      Sad can’t meet up with Yu Jean.
5)      Had another fail date for the second time. It’s all because of the fire.
6)      it feels so GREAT when u stopped ur bike at the traffic light to help a blind man to cross the road while everyone else of their vehicles just stood there, do nth n look at us. =p
7)      Mum prepared ‘hu chui’ the talisman/spiritual drink for safety purpose.

i shaved my beard

=(

It's a sad thing on a merry day.

You can guess what i did from the post title itself.

Hair on the jaw has been chopped!

i shaved my little cute beard on Deepavali night.

No more beard after years of keeping, preserving and conserving it.

It's like my crown ok.

hahah!

although it's not thick, but i didn't want to shave it because halo it's sentimental la. what if i shave already then cannot grow again??

eh i tell you it takes years to grow one ok.

but friends and people around me ALWAYS curious and irritated by it. they ask me to shave. hmmph! i noe la u people no bulu like me. hahaha!

now, no more beard, no more mustache.

"Dengan segala dukacitanya, dimaklumkan bahawa pada malam Deepavali yang sunyi ini, Oh Chin Eng telah memotong janggut kesayangannya yang telah dibela sejak akil baligh disebabkan oleh tekanan, kejelesan dan permintaan daripada orang ramai."

proud of my sister

this is a story about my sister.

i brought her to a Nine Emporer Gods temple just now.

While walking to my bike to go home, she went back to the temple.

She said she wana make a donation.

She took out two RM1 note from her pocket.

I asked how much she would like to donate.

You know what she said?

Guess la..

"Our family got 5 people, i donate RM5 la."

I was so shocked. At the same time, i'm so touched that this statement came out from my sister's mouth. I'm thankful that she is kind-hearted and she's willing to do charity. But i am more deeply moved when she care for the family.

I asked her to only make donation for herself.

At the end she put RM3 into the box.

Right now, i asked her how much and why RM3??

she said sincerity lo, because they might use the money to repair the furniture and the building.

OMG OMG!

tears of happiness are about to flow.

i am so proud of her.
