Kepada kawan yang jauh dan dekat, meskipun lama tak bersua, lama tak menegur sapa tapi hati ini mash utuh teringatkan anda. Yang jauh kita dekatkan, yang dekat kita rapatkan, yang rapat kita satukan. Semoga Raya tahun ini lebih berkat dari tahun-tahun sebelumnya. Sedang kita bersukaria, jangan lupa juga pada yang papa kedana. Terima saudara lain dengan hati terbuka walaupun kita tidak sebahasa, sebangsa dan seagama. Sesungguhnya kita ini makhluk ciptaan Tuhan juga. Bermaaf-maafan dan hormat-menghormati. Pengemis, penjaja mahupun buruh asing ingin merasai suasan Raya juga. Sedekahkanlah seteguk doa buat yang telah pergi, yang masih di sisi dan yang susah dalam hidup ini. Hari Raya ini mungkin hari gembiran buat anda tapi ia membawa kesedihan kepada orang lain juga. Tanpa melengahkan masa, Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, maaf atas ke bawah, dalam dan luar. multicultural beautiful Penang

Penang is a very good example of unity, high social awareness, development, green initiative and most importantly a melting pot of multi-culturalism and a diverse society where people regardless of their differences in religion, custom, belief, race, age, gender and political divide come together in whatever occasions. And in these few days, the spirit of Penangites is shown again where we celebrate non-stop festivals from Maulidul Rasul to Chap Goh Meh to Thaipusam and many more.

This is why I am proud being a Penangite.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri

Wohooo! Finally it’s Hari Raya! Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitiri buat semua rakan tak kira di mana anda berada. Hati-hati kalau balik kampung. Makanlah byk2 sampai perut buncit. Sekiranya ada silap n salah, percakapan atau perbuatan, saya minta maaf byk2. Semoga Raya ini penuh dgn kemaafan, keinsafan, keamanan, cinta dan kasih sayang.

Everytime whenver it's Raya or Deepavali, i will sure go back to Penang. Never miss! But this Raya, i'm working. I'll only be back on the 3rd Raya.

Friends asked me before, why do i want to spend money travel home? Raya and Deepavali is not even my celebrations. Eh, i celebrate. I feel so awkward for not celebrating it. Raya and Deepavali are already part of my culture. I'll visit my friends during these festivals.

At the end, i'm the few Chinese who will go back hometown, the rest, stay in the hostel and do their own things or go back for holidays.

I miss home la.

I guess i'll go back on Wednesday la although i supposed to work. I'll apply for MC or emergency leave la ok. haha. September 6 i must be in uni. I don't wana stay in KL then straight to uni for internship presentation. If i don't go back Penang now, i have to wait till 11th because 11th i need to be in KL for an event.

Blablabla i talk too much. Ok set, i'm going back to Penang then Kampar then KL. At least i can rest in Penang, meet up my friends and spend time with family.

high religion tolerance in Penang

I’m so glad to see the high level of religions tolerance and understanding in Penang. It’s puasa month and also the Hungry Ghost Festival. There’ll be Muslim prayers at night. And the Chinese will have kotai or singing performance. The kotai people actually lowe down the volume drastically as a respect to the Muslim friends. Wow!

selamat berpuasa

Puasa time is back n it feels so great. May all my Muslim friends r blessed in this holy Ramadan. Dun ponteng puasa ya. To others, show respect and fast with them. It’s good for health n spiritually too. I’m gona do dat n serbu bazar Ramadan! Selamat menyambut Ramadan Al-Mubarak dan selamat berpuasa.

problem talking with a 'holy' man

It is a BIG problem when you talked to a so-called 'holy' person or a person who's so 'religious'. These people will never accept and cannot accept opinions from others. For them their religion is the best. Aih.. And i always sakit hati gunung berapi mau meletup talking to them. Not that i don't accept their religion but i just can't accept their mindset.

I found an old friend from primary school and he's a teacher now. I was so shocked that he has changed to that kind of person. Well, i don't feel comfortable talking to him as i feel he's very intimidating and scary. I don't like i when people try to convert me.

You see, all teh religions are right and pure, it's the people who are dirty, corrupted and go nuts.

Saudara bagaikan ingin merekrut bukan Islam untuk masuk Islam. Bagi saya ini adalah tidak patut jika seseorang itu telah beragama. Jangan secara sewenang-wenangnya melemparkan tuduhan melulu, tidak bernas secara membuta tuli bahawa seseorang itu dibelenggu aninisme. Atas dasar dan landasan apa didakwa mereka ini dibelenggu? Kalau suatu hari nanti, seseorang terbuka hatinya untuk menerima agama tertentu, ini bermakna dia telah menerima hidayahnya. Tidak perlu mereka dipaksa dan tidak perlu ditukar agama mereka dengan cara 'brainwash' atau gertakan. Saya menghormati agama Islam, saya ingin memahaminya dengan lebih mendalam lagi dan saya juga berharap saudara boleh berbuat perkara yang sama terhadap kami yang bukan Islam. Setiap orang ada kebebasan beragamanya. Saya tidak perlu masuk Islam untuk ke syurga kerana saya serta sahabat-sahabat bukan Islam yang lain juga mempunyai syurga kami sendiri. Treat others as you would like to be treated. ini hanyalah pandangan peribadi saya.

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to my first ever video production!!

Wahahaha.

I’m feeling so excited because this is the first time I make a video using a software all by myself. I am not an IT person. I’m bad in technology. That’s why I used about 2 hours to make this video. The Windows Live Movie Maker 2011 is so different from what I used to see few years ago. I think it has been upgraded.

So what’s so great about this video? It’s great because my effort paid off. I feel so satisfied because I finished what I’ve started.

This video is not shot by video camera. It’s actually a photo slideshows and I made it into a video so that I can post it on Youtube.

105 photos are used to make this video. I shot these photos back in 31/12/2009. It was 5am in the morning and I stood in front of Masjid Kapitan Keling in Penang for 30 minutes, waiting for the moon to set.

And I was so lucky because the moon was at its fullest that night, which was also the 15^th of the Chinese Lunar Calendar.

Besides than photography, I actually enjoy videography too. I want to be in the video and I want to produce video or movie too. The problem is I don’t have the tools to make it happen. Video camera is too expensive. Plus, my camera can’t take video.

Today I’m the producer, director, cameraman, and also the editor of my video. Hahaha.

Rakan Selawat -Raihan

I love nasyid songs.

My favourite nasyid group is Raihan. My all-time favorite nasyid group since my primary school.

I used to listen to their songs a lot. I even know how to sing it although there are some Arabic words.

Hahaha.

Test me. I can sing the whole song ok.

Ok since today is the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, let’s listen to nasyid song la ok.

money by government = haram or halal?

As far as I know, this is the first time that a state government is giving out cash donation to the old folks but some politikus claimed it's haram. So i wana ask, the MONEY that the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT spend on the country is HALAL or HARAM because Genting casino pays tax, TOTO Magnum too, tobacco companies, alcohol as well as imported pork and etc which is haram in Islam. So??

If federal government says that the act of Penang state government is HARAM by giving out cash donation which is from horse racing betting, then i would say our Federal Government is HARAM! Haram because federal government is the one who passed the laws, enforce it and now they want to legalise football betting. If BN could not please and help its people, please don't use dirty tactics to bring down my beloved Penang state.

Who is Halal and who is Haram?

Those doing charity or those giving the license and legalise the activity?

Stop being hypocrite. People with sound mind is watching.

Bersyukurlah kalau ada insan yang berbuat kebajikan. Jangan dituduhnya haram. Sesungguhnya yang haram datang daripada hati kita sendiri.

SELAMAT BERBUKA PUASA!! WOOHOOO! jom makan. it's makan time. i know la i tak puasa today but xpe.. kita makan sama-sama ye.. Bazar Ramadan kat Kampar Old Town memang best! punya banyak i sapu. tengokla apa i sapu hari ni. =p

ada Laksa Sanggul, taufufah, otak-otak, nasi lemak, cucur udang, jus pegaga, dan entah kuih apa benda la. best! sedap! i kan suka makan, kuat makan, hidup untuk makan. satu hari tak makan ok.. bukan apa, malas nak keluar. hehe.

hmm.. i makan sorang2. siapala kawan i yang puasa kat sini. yang puasa pun sikit tu je. semua pun balik kampung. sini area Cina.. Bazar Ramadan pulak jauh. so susahla students sini nak p sana.

i saw RM1 just now. no one dares to take it. so i took it. i was like thinking what should i do with it. kalau jumpa duit, rezeki la kan. but then i decided not to take it la cuz it's not mine. i remember i promised my ex before that i won't steal or talk anything that doesn't belong to me anymore. if not because of her also, i still pegang pada prinsip and maruah. kalau orang tak nampak pun, Tuhan nampak.

eh i took it but i donated it to to some guy at the Bazar Ramadan.best juga buat charity. hati rasa lapang. =p

u noe.. i puasa for a day only this time. yea you'll ask why must i puasa cuz im not even a Muslim. aih.. u won't understand la. it has to do with my previous relationship. anyway takde mood la nak puasa. u noe bila u sorang-sorang, buat apa pun xde makna kan. eh i tak emo. i cuma berkata benar. dulu i puasa cuz of her. now rasa janggal puasa alone. arrghh! memory masa lalu... she still lives in me la..

puasa this year is so dull. i don't feel Raya at all. no kick. no umpph! it's not like the previous Raya anymore. last time, i'll puasa, i'll go visit friends' house, i'll bermaaf-maafan with her but this year.. hmm.. i didn't even know that she's back. and now im in Kampar, not sure whether im going back to celebrate Raya or not.

it's funny you know when i see my friends' reactions everytime i told them that im going back to celebrate Raya. haha. they'll like huh?? why you wana go back? you Muslim meh? ayooo.. i ni Malaysian la. im not sure about you but i grown up in an environment where i accept, respect and understand other races and their cultures lo.. i celebrate all the major festivals in Malaysia.

i went to the bank to get some money just now and i wana pengsan now! I am so broke now! serioous la. no lying. not joking. i terkejut sampai mata terbeliak bola jatuh pecah hancur looking at my account. aih.. how to travel? how to fix my laptop?

laptop is still sick. im now using my roomate's PC. tq Ah Liang. and thx to Tiffamy for fetching me from bus-stop when i reached Kampar. Thx to Rachael also for lending me ur laptop. muax muax.

im so kuai today. my bed is so neat now. i washed my bedsheet and mattress. i fold my clothes. i boiled water. i returned library books. i went to uni to snap pics. i arranged my notes. see how 'good' i am. hahaha.

when it started to rain just now, i post a status in my FB wall. i said "ok i see rain drops!! yes it's water from the up the sky! i bet u wont last till tonight 1 la.. rain oso so HOT!"

Damn cun la.

Itu Meteorological Department said there will be no rain until Hari Raya. means teh whole Ramadhan month will be hot.

hmmm.. im hungry now la. bila boleh buka puasa ni. cepatla. lapar. hehe. i puasa half day je cuz din sahur this morning.

It’s puasa time again. or you can call it fasting.

I started to fast ever since 2006 Raya and if I fast again this year, It will be the fifth year already.

Hmm.. im thinking of a reason to puasa this year. Yeala.. u noe.. now im single. It’s not like im with my ex anymore. but last time I puasa it’s not because of her solely lah. I wanted to try to fast then im addicted to it. And I feel bad If I dun fast.

But this year is kind of different. What is so different. Im not so sure about it. I can fast if I want. I don’t mind. but.. hmm..

We’ll see how la. most probably I’ll fast but I’ll eat whenever I want. Haha. can ah can ah? Nola, I won’t do that la. I fast properly in terms of food, mental, behaviour and whatsoever things la.

And I can’t wait to see Amirah wears tudung! Hahaha! Sure chomel! And that time she cannot go kacau and tease people anymore cuz she’s fasting.

Anyway maaf zahir dan batin ye. In Malaysia, everything is so mixed up and rojak. I know im a Chinese but I also practice and adapt Malays and Indians culture. Aduih.. this is what you call diversity and plurality. Im proud of it.

Bermaaf-maafan la time puasa ni. Stay away from sins and mistakes. Jgn marah, jgn dengki, jgn kutuk, jgn dendam, jgn tipu.. Be a good person at least for a month. Insya-Allah besar berkatnya.

Selamat berpuasa to my Muslim friends. And for those non-Muslims who wish to puasa, selamat berpuasa and bertahan for you too. =p

Semoga tahun ni lebih baik daripada tahun-tahun yang sebelumnya.

bus and train tickets + the rain = wet and gatai

Wet wet and wet. Im all wet.

Semua pasai tickets balik kampung.

The heavy rain suddenly poured when I was on my way to get bus n train tickets for me n my classmate n a junior. Baik kan i? yea tq. hehe.

Luckily I didn’t bring my camera and hp. but aiyah cant capture how WET I was! I tell you gila babi mia basah ok! the rain is so big so thick so tall so tebal so tualiap. My specs covered with water n I can’t even see clearly. The wind sipek strong but hmpph! Gua mia muscles big enough to stand the wind. But then fulamak the wind seriously can blew me away la.

This is the first time I went to get bus tickets under such a glorious rain. Hmmm.. I promised An Yong n Rachel d ma. Later they can’t go back, I juga susah. Hehehe. N I scared I can’t get bus ticket for myself too this Saturday.

So I went to the train station first to get the ticket to Kepong Sentral for An Yong. The ticket seller dun hv small change. He asked me go to that small stall in the train station to change my RM50 note. I went. What I saw there totally changed me.. I duno how to say it but I felt a lot calmer n it opened my eyes again on the beauty of religion. I saw an old Malay man praying on the floor.  He didn’t closed his shop. I was wondering what if people go n steal the food or rob him. He was facing the Kaabah, his back is facing me. so he didn’t see me. I waited there. I just stood there n looked at him. A lot of things just came n playing in my mind. The rain kept pouring. The man can’t go to the mosque because he needs to make a living. So he chose to pray in his stall. Im touched actually. During his last ‘rakaat’, when he turned his face to the left and right, he saw me. he quickly stood up. I think he was shock seeing a man standing in front of his stall covering himself with huge raincoat, wearing helmet and all wet. So I asked for change from him. He didn’t question much. He opened the drawer n get me 5 rm10 notes. I thanked him. Then I said ‘sori ye kacau.’

Some people especially the extremists and the radicals always try to portray themselves as religious by going to religious places, wear the religious attires etc but no one knows whether they really have God in them.

Then I went to the bus station to get Transnasional tickets to Butterworth for Rachel and myself. luckily tickets are still available. Many students will go back this weekend u noe..

Now my face so gatai! My neck also gatai. Thanks to the rain. Ewww! And my room is flooded. I forgot to close my window. Aih.
