the tissue seller

9.30pm 19/7/2011 Petaling Street

It has been some time since I post up Ah Kong Ah Ma photos in my blog. I didn’t post old people photos in my Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.131084207876.112867.599962876&saved#!/media/set/?set=a.131084207876.112867.599962876&saved#!/home.php?sk=media) too since I’m in KL.

This is the first old people picture I post taken in KL.

It’s so hard to find old people here. Where are they hiding?

I met this aunty at Petaling Street when I was having my dinner with a friend, Aki from Japan.

She came to our table to sell tissues. I said no, thanks. She tried again and again but I still reject her. At the end she wanted to give me free. Hahaha. Of course I reject again. That’s her source of income, how can I take the tissues form her. Then she wanted to give me free Buddhist mantras and chanting CD. That’s so random.. I was like er.. It’s ok la aunty.

She went into the bank to rest as there’s aircon in there. I went in and chat with her.

She was telling me that her life is miserable. Her fate is bad. She’s unlucky and so on. She was curious why I keep on snapping her pictures. She asked me am I a bad guy. Am I going to put curse on her.

She said you will never know the true colours of people. Well she’s right on that. A lot of us are acting, wearing a mask whenever we go. Some even go abroad by jilatting the boss, lick here and there and become so cheap.

I assured her that I am not a bad guy. I am not a holy man but at least I won’t harm people and not her. I told her where I’m from, where I study and what I’m doing here in KL.

It’s so delighting to see her smile looking at her picture from my DSLR screen.

She touches my heart.

At the end, before I left, I bought her a bottle of mineral water. I didn’t open it up as I fear that she might think I put poison in the drink.

Posting up this photo makes up my night. I had a not so smooth day. i made wrong decisionsss. I was so down. But i can see myself smiling now, before I close my eyes, waiting for a better day tomorrow.

nightly QUOTE

If you work hard and you do your best, whether the end result is good or bad, you can still be proud of yourself. Remember to recognize, appreciate and remember those people who help you along the way. =p

I'm gona appear in NTV7 news at 7pm later =p

Good things are floating my life today.

Definitely not to boast, I am so thankful to those who made these happened.

After few times of rejection and continuous support and guidance from helpful seniors, finally, finally.. I'm given the chance to do stand upper and voice over.

This means i'm gona appear on NTV7 Malay news at 7pm today.

This is so unexpected and unbelievable!

I'm right now waiting nervously for the news to be aired in the newsroom. fuh..

Some of the seniors already congratulate me and they are so excited. Hahaha. Thanks Nadia, Sarah and Bob.

Thanks to Julie for encouraging me to try to do stand upper after I told her that the editors didn’t used it before. She helped me a lot in arranging the points and my presentation.

Thank you too to Kak Ron. She’s so high today. She freak me off with her harimau betina voice. But she is nice la. She can be playful when she’s not stress. I was so shocked when she’s ok to used my stand upper.

And I’m totally shocked.

I still have a lot to learn and a lot more to improve.

This experience is gona push me to do better.

Afterall, my internship is going to end soon. I’m leaving at the end of August.

Ok people let us countdown. Ehhee.

Sunray from Hutan Lipur Lata Meraung

Date: 17/7/2011 (Sunday)

Time: 1.07pm

Venue: Hutan Lipur Lata Meraung, Jerantut, Pahang

what a JOKE of the day

Well, let see what is the joke of the day.

First it’s from our Menteri Luar or Minister of Foreign Affairs, Datuk Anifah Aman. He was responding to the questions from people protesting in London. Najib, Hishammudin and him was there to meet the Queen of England. This is what he said about Bersih 2.0 rally.

“Tindakan polis berpatutan. Malaysia mempunyai pelbagai bangsa dan jika terjadi huru hara itu mungkin menimbulkan rusuhan perkauman. Kami tidak mahu ambil risiko. Awak tidak tahu apa yang berlaku di sana, awak tidak berada di sana.”

Come on Datuk! Stop lying! What joke are you telling??

Tindakan polis berpatutan? Whacking and beating people is appropriate? Shooting tear gas and water cannon into the hospital compound is ok? SIMPLY arrest people for wearing yellow and with the BERSIH word on it is correct? Oh wow…

Ok what else?? Huru-hara itu mungkin menimbulkan rusuhan kaum? Halooo.. it’s not chaotic at all if not because of the police. Everyone was walking peacefully until the police shoot tear gas and water cannon. Yes there are a few provocative demonstrators who couldn’t hold onto their emotions.

And the rally is not about Chinese vs Malay or Malay vs Indian or Chinese vs Indian or any race vs any race! It’s not a racial rally. It is a rally by all Malaysians from all over the country, all walks of life from different age, gender, religion, profession and so on. Nothing racist from Bersih 2.0 demonstrators. They were helping each other throughout the intimidation and abuse of power from the police. They were chatting and joking with each other. Chinese, Indian, Malay, Sabahan, Sarawakian, the aborigines got tear gas and water cannon too. It was a touching united Malaysian scene. Forget about the propaganda 1 Malaysia concept by Najib. The Bersih 2.0 demonstrators best represent the concept on July 9th. Racist elements only came from Ibrahim Ali and PERKASA. HE’S THE ONLY ONE BEING RACIST.

For your information Datuk Anifah, you are not there, so you don’t deserved at all to give your own judgement!

Shame on you Anifah Aman, Hishammuddin Hussein and Najib Razak for all the lies you made.

To all the politicians in Malaysia, stop talking nonsense and make fun on yourself. Most importantly don’t fool the Rakyat.

Why I talk so much?? The reason is simply because I was there when the democracy process took place.

Ok now let’s go to the second joke of the day. This time it’s about UiTM, a university for the Bumiputra. It got to the with the PERKASA President, Ibrahim Ali. UiTM is giving out Anugerah Ibrahim Ali or Ibrahim Ali Award to its students.

Oh wow!! Ibrahim Ali. Oh yeh.. uhhh..

First of all, I am so happy and proud of you, Ibrahim Ali for willing to sponsor RM 5000.00 in every convocation to the suitable student. It’s so nice of you. I think the students must be very happy for your kind contribution. Seriously it’s a good news when you give back to the society. You will be a good role model for your kind act.

But, I am so shocked with this award. How can a university acknowledge people like you, Ibrahim? Not enough with the racist label given to UiTM, now UiTM is one step backward in recognizing racism and recruiting more racist Malaysians. Don’t deny the fact that UiTM students are taught to be pro-government. Don’t deny the facts that there are a number of students from UiTM who are bearing the racist mindset.

I wonder what he has contributed to the nation. Erm.. Asking the Chinese to go back China? Er.. asking the Chinese to keep more food at home? Er.. Saying he can bring more people to counter Bersih 2.0 rally? Staying away when the Bersih 2.0 took place? Or calling Wong Chun Wai the Father of Crocodile (http://malaysiakini.com/news/170196).

Sorry but I am disappointed and utterly disgusted by this award. RM 5000.00 to promote and enhance racism? Bullshit!

Good academicians from UiTM please stand up and make a stand. UiTM is an educational institution. It supposed to give birth to capable, open-minded, rationale, outstanding and muhibah leaders not to produce more racist people like Ibrahim Ali la…

University should uphold democracy and improve the society.

Just because you can come out with RM 5000.00, you can have the award under your name?? fuyooo! What’s the rationale and relevancy?? Yes you may be cheered for speaking on behalf of the Malays but your views are not supported by all the Malays. You might be fighting for the Malay rights but I still don’t feel that you deserved to give out that award with your name on it.

I will be the first one to support if it’s a A. Samad Said Award or Marina Mahathir Award or even a S. M. Mohamed Idris Award.

Hmmm it’s ok la it’s your university, not mine. And I’m not the applicant. Afterall, UiTM is making itself a laughing stock, at least I laugh. Wahahahaah!

Siapa yang rasa dia layak and tak malu, apply lah.

I wonder what my friends from UiTM have to say about this award. Please leave your comments.

The application form is here (http://impak.uitm.edu.my/?page_id=2312). Your family and friends must be very proud of you. =p

OK I’M DONE LAUGHING WITH THE TWO NEWS TODAY. If you don’t feel funny, don’t laugh la and you can go away from this blog.

WHAT A JOKE OF THE DAY!

Queen of England in yellow

So why is the Queen Elizabeth wearing yellow when granting an audience to Najib and Rosmah? There are reasons. Hahah you are so cool la Queen of England. I respect you for your hidden message to my country. =p

Pictures that tell a story

* An article about me was published in The Star yesterday. (Thursday 14/7/2011) hehehe. ok i'm not boasting ok. But good news like this, i should share around. After all, it's good for my portfolio and resume. =p

PHOTOGRAPHY buff Oh Chin Eng simply loved to take pictures of older people, portraying the simplicity of their life.
And one of his many shots titled “Home”, featuring an old Sikh man with a long beard, won him the third prize under the individual portrait category at the KL International Photo Award 2011 in April.

Prize Winner: Oh win third prize in an international photography contest with a picture portraying rich Sikh cultural elements.

Oh said he preferred to work with older folk as the subject of his photography.
“There’s a special bonding between me and them, especially when they smile for my camera.”
In the case of the old Sikh man, who was clad in a sarong, the picture captured was a production of assimilation in the plural society, said Oh.
He said he decided to document the Sikh community because they were lesser acknowledged in photography although they have a rich and diversified culture .
Up close: Oh taking an outdoor photo shoot at a park.

“Photographing them was a way to start a conversation and the shots recorded tell a story on its own,” he said.
Oh simply wanted his pictures of old people to be a medium of communication and to “convey a message of love.”
“I first bought the camera way back in 2000 to take part in a national-level photography competition organised by the Red Crescent Society,” he said.
He said winning the competition with the first merit prize had encouraged him to take up photography seriously.
Oh picked up photographyon his own.
“I observed how people composed their pictures to improve my skill,” he said.
Aside from actively taking pictures, Oh from Penang was also actively involved in non-governmental organisations such as Penang Heritage Trust, Anak-Anak Kota and rts-Ed.
“The participation in such organisations had widened my perspective in photography,” he said.
Oh strongly believes in unpretentious act, which was the essence in documenting people in his photography to reflect the stories behind each of his subjects.
“I would never ask people to pose for pictures. Being natural is definitely the best expression,” he said.
Early this year, he won the first prize of a photography competition organised by Kwong Wah Yit Poh. His photographs have also appeared in the The Star’s Thumbnail column since 2006.
On his future goals, Oh, a final year journalism undergraduate, plans to be a photojournalist.
“I hope my experiences and awards would help me land a job when I graduate,” he said.

Pancutan Sperma Asid (Bersih 2.0)

I was there at the Bersih 2.0 rally. I witnessed many things that you don’t get to read in newspapers, see in television or hear in radio. If this is real democratic country, let us have freedom of writing. This sajak is my expression. Don’t tell me what to say and what not so say.

Pancutan Sperma Asid

Aku di sana
Berdiri megah dengan isteri
Digantung di leher kecil
Dibalutnya dengan kondom ungu dan putih
Khuatir dicemari sperma berasid

Hati berdebar menanti cekupan
Kaki meggeletar
Bersedia cabut melintang-pukang

Kemudian kau mara
Datang bagaikan ombak
Mara umpama orang hilang akalnya
Gila meraung-raung diserang hysteria

Langkah mu gagah
Menongkah arus kebangkitan rakyat
Di lautan demokrasi
Benteng perpaduan ummah dicerobohi
Kau maki-maki puki
Meneranjang laki-laki
Orang tua, kanak-kanak dan wanita
Pun tidak kau lepasi

Jentera tsunami mu menyerang liar
Trak merah mengganas menghala mereka
Masuk menyelam dalam semangat kuning
Yang berjalan menghayun chota dan baton
Yang gila memukul membabi buta

Lalu tanah merdeka digempar
Siren berkumandang
Gas pemedih mata ditembak-tembak
Meriam air masuk gelanggang
Kau memancut tanpa segan silu
Sperma-sperma asid mu melekat di sini situ
Puas kau memancut
Hilang segala rasa gian

Sperma-sperma asid mu cukup beracun
Yang celik menjadi buta
Rasa cili membakar mata
Cili paling pedas ku pernah rasa
Orang-orang menjadi ayam
Lari berkeliaran
Keluar dari reban

Kau melangkah gagah
Menongkah arus kebangkitan rakyat
Di lautan demokrasi
Benteng perpaduan ummah dicerobohi
Kau maki-maki puki
Meneranjang laki-laki
Orang tua, kanak-kanak dan wanita
Pun tidak kau lepasi

Yang aman kau binasakan
Yang haram kau halalkan
Yang betul kau salahkan
Yang baik kau jahatkan
Yang putih kau hitamkan

Jahanam kau si iblis bermuka manusia
Makan minum atas duit orang Malaysia
Tapi kau berkawat di jalanan
Buat macam tanah ini kau punya

Kelakuan mu bagai orang gasar
Mengagungkan yang jahil dan korup
Memalukan bangsa dan negara

Kau memperkosa keamanan negara
Dicabuli kau kehormatan mereka

Yang berjalan muhibah di tiang hak manusia
Keselamatan mereka kau nodai
Badan mereka kau pijak
Dipenyek-penyek
Direnyuk-renyuk

Kau memancut kau menembak
Sperma-sperma asid mu
Mencari-cari yang tidak berdosa
Kerana kau kotor
Kebersihan Bersih 2.0 menyilau mata mu

Kau
Si pancut yang batangnya tegar
Tegak memancut membabi buta
Air mani asid liar di udara
Merobek suara keramat gegak gempita

Puas kah anda
Melepas nafsu kebinatangan
Menikmati saat-saat pancutan

Melihat ku dan komrad-komrad lain
menanggung sakit derita
Gara-gara kerakusan kuasa mu
Sakit pedih gila lu tau kah

Nasib baik kami tidak mengandung
Dipancut dipercik disimbah sperma-sperma asid mu
Kalau pun benar
Pasti anaknya gugur

Terima kasih si pahlawan bangsat
Kau membuka mata Rakyat yang melihat
Warna sebenar kerajaan demokrat

*So, will i get arrested for this poem?

Friday, 8 July 2011

709: no yellow, no red, but white.

Dup dap dup dap dup dap dup dap..

This is what I feel at the moment. I am so nervous over the event tomorrow. I’m looking forward for it though. But I know the feeling is more than nervous. I am scared. I am scared until I am speechless and stomach pain.

What colour will people be wearing tomorrow? How will Kuala Lumpur looks like? A sea of yellow? Or a sea of red? We’ll see. But for me, I’ll just be wearing a white shirt. White represents cleanliness, purity and sincerity.

Earlier in the day, she asked me not to go. She asked why must I go. She said I can support from the heart.

Just now, my aunty called. She asked me to becareful. She reminded me so many times not to wear yelloh shirt. She said she knows that I will be going.

Then my grandmother called me. She said there are roadblocks everywhere. She wondered how in the world I got bus ticket back to KL.

Lastly, my mum. She also asked me not to wear anything yellow tomorrow.

Don’t worry I won’t. I’m wearing white. =p

I don’t know what will happen tomorrow. Some people say there will be riot. Some say the communication like will be down, no phone calls, sms, and internet. Some say there will be massive arrest in the city.

If anything were to happened to me, I won’t blame anyone. This is the path I chose, this is the decision I made.

Nothing is gona change if only a person do all the job. Last time, when I join SRC of UTAR Kampar, this is one of the messages I try to send out. If we are all united, we can breakthrough.

Forget me not. Remember me for the photos I took, for the stories I documented, and for the memories I captured. Remember me for my silliness and words too.

So if you are going to KL tomorrow, please be safe. Remember to fill petrol if you are driving. If you are stuck in the jam, roll down the window and chitchat with the drivers next to you. =p

I will make myself presence at the event tomorrow with my brothers and sisters. I’ll be there not as any political party supporter but as a Malaysians.

I just wana take pictures la. chill laaaa...

I am not gona do anything bad, illegal or commit crime.

I will be safe and take care of myself. For those who care about me, please pray for my safety and others too.

I will post my updates on Facebook.

May no one's gonna get hurt tomorrow.

Buddha, please bless me..

Peace Malaysia.

My stand

Everyone has a stand. Babies also will try to stand up after they fall. Even a pen has a stand. As a reporter, i have my stand too in my news. But my stand must always be a neutral stand. Sometimes, i have to stand with those people in power, too..

Malaysia is like a book

Malaysia is like a thick long-winded book.

Outside, it’s just a hard cover, a surface that is plain in nature. But if you never open it, you’ll never know what’s inside. The stories about Malaysia lie inside the thick book. Read it sheet by sheet, you will discover that this nation has so much magnificent stories to share. You will realize that this land of diversity has so much to give.

There are love, care, unity, understanding, tolerance, acceptance, creativity, knowledge, and hope in every chapter of the book. The characters in the book are so special and unique in their own way. Blending with kuah and buah makes the Rakyat so rojak with the practice of different cultures, religions, and languages.

These are the colours that make the book continue to be written. Take your own sweet time to read it but I can tell you that you’ll never be able to do that. This is a priceless book that if you don’t take care of it, you’ll never get a reprint version or a new same book.

Good and bad, beauty and ugly, ups and downs, that’s what makes us stronger. And those stories must be safeguard. That’s the history that can’t be changed. That’s the stories we want to tell our children.

Remember and remember, this is a book that belongs to all of us. Whether it’s gona be hot-selling book or not, it will depend to us, the guardians of the country. It has started by our forefathers, now, it’s our time to continue pen the book and pass it to the generations to come. Let’s leave them a good future. Safeguard it like how you safeguard your belongings.

We may be different but we are all brothers and sisters.

You too, are a part of the stories in the book entitled ‘Malaysia’, as you are… Malaysians.

Awesome Sunday

What a lazy Sunday but it's a working day and now it's a rainy day but it's ok, today is gona be a awesome day. =p

OCE with A. Samad Said

Finally… finally after so many years, I managed to get a photo with him. I sat next to him. He has been on my mind ever since in primary school. I met him few times but I never dare to approach him for a photo.

Finally I did. Thanks to NTV7, I got the chance to go for assignment and I got the chance to see him in person again.

I am so happy to have a picture with him Datuk A. Samad Said, the Sasterawan Negara that inspired me a lot from my school days even until today. I got so fascinated and so good in Bahasa Malaysia debate, public speaking and poetry partly because of him. I wanted to be a Sasterawan Negara so badly at one time when i was in Form 2. N I vowed to have a longer beard than him. =p

Today he was intidimated by the police for the Bersih 2.0 demonstration. He has nothing to do with the organizing team but he got ill-treated for reading a poem in the Bersih 2.0 launching.

God will protect good people like Pak Samad. He’s getting older. A lot of wrinkles and white hair. But hey his spirit is still as hard as a rock ok.

If anything bad were to happened to him, I will make sure I fight for him who inspired me all this way, in everyway I can.

Democratising the rakyat

Filepic from Himpunan Mansuhkan ISA on 1/8/2009

You stand firm on the principal of democracy. You go against bad government. You speak up and articulate your thoughts. You create social awareness. You create fear to the people holding power. You got arrested. You are not given fair trial. Your voice is being suppressed.

Your image is ruined. Your family and friends are worried. You lost your job. You lost your dignity. You lost your rights.

You become the victim of democratization process for the betterment of the society and generations to come. The cost to pay is high.

DAMN! wasting 6 hours in office!

Grrhhh..

Yea you heard me.

Colleague informed me last night that I’m needed for an assignment at 8am. My partner is Alvin. Supposedly my original assignment is on 2pm. Ok fine.

So I reached office at 8am just now. First thing to do is to get the fax or details on the assignment. And guess what. The speech, opening ceremony and stuff is at 2pm! 2pm! 8am is just some minor things with no newsvalue.

So no need to go at 8am lo. 2pm only go out la.

Kanasai!

aih. Wat the tut man wrong info?? How can you give us wrong info?? I hate it. Those who key in the details must be accurate la. Look at the fax or press release carefully. Don’t trouble your broadcast journalist and cameraman. Check the details properly and then only inform us. This is not the 1st time we got wrong information on the assignments.

Pissed off ok.

Nw nothing to do in the office. There’s nothing for us to do in the office as the intern. Alright im not going to go into that topic. I just express my disappointment and geramness je on my assignment this morning.

Geram geram geram!

Oh Chin Eng is wasting 6 hours in the office. Right now, there are only 2 people in the office including me. The rest? Sleeping la.

Damn! Tak marah kalau tak boleh la. Tell me how not to be angry in this situation. Anyone also will be angry la.

Wasted my sleeping time. If not because of this wrong info, I can go to office at 10am or 11am because my assignment is at 2pm not 8am.

Some more, I wear so nice (handsome) today ok. I’m planning to do stand upper ma. Stand upper is like u hold a mike and speak and appear on tv la. Ish. Ruin my mood and handsomeness.

*I’ll get angry and get over it soon. Hopefully. =p

QUOTE of the day

If you already found a person who loves you more than you love her, be loyal, don't let go and love her more than she loves you.

Dating: Now and Then

Last time, I mean in the 90’s and early 20th century, the way young people go dating is so different. They will curi-curi call each other’s house and that’s the main way to communicate. They will write letters to each other. And they are only able to take bus when go dating because they are still young and no driving license. The best thing is they will will go to park, garden or beach for dating because malls are very less then.

But now I feel the relationship has lost the touch. I feel couple nowadays somehow lost the sweetness due to modernization and technology. They talk less and express lesser through body language. They are trapped in the cyber world. They only sms each other because it’s cheap. They use Facebook, MSN or skype to communicate or to see each other. Wherever they go, they drive because they prefer aircon and comfortness.
The advancement of technology is good but it’s not so good when people rely on it heavily and obsess with it to the extent of losing the human values.

This is just my thought. You may have different view.

I miss the oldies then the new way of courting and dating. =p
