Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri / Eid al-Fitr

Best wishes and Eid al-Fitr to my Muslim friends. =p

*Jemputlah I ke rumah. I off Raya Kedua. Hehehe. =p*

Silver Chariot makes its way

The silver chariot carrying the image of Lord Murugan makes it way to Nattukottai Chettiar Temple, Waterfall Road from Kovil Veddu, Queen Street at 6.30am this morning where thousands of devotees have gathered there from as early as 5am to celebrate Thaipusam in Penang.

multicultural beautiful Penang

Penang is a very good example of unity, high social awareness, development, green initiative and most importantly a melting pot of multi-culturalism and a diverse society where people regardless of their differences in religion, custom, belief, race, age, gender and political divide come together in whatever occasions. And in these few days, the spirit of Penangites is shown again where we celebrate non-stop festivals from Maulidul Rasul to Chap Goh Meh to Thaipusam and many more.

This is why I am proud being a Penangite.

We against extremism and racism.

I am made to be muhibbah and i have friends from all kind of backgrounds.

Penang is such a beautiful island. =p

New Year's Eve from Penang Hill

This photo was taken from Penang Hill, the highest hill on the island on New Year's Eve. Shutterbugs were eagerly waiting to snap fireworks from the low land but too bad, as the time reached 12am, the dark thick clouds were covering the entire hill.

My mum says today is a good day for spring cleaning and i have to wake up now. hmmmm.. But this means Chinese New Year is less than a month from now. wohooo! =p

bye 2011 hi 2012

Say bye to 2011 and say hie to 2012. I would like to take this chance to say zillions of thank you to everyone who came across my life and lend me their hands whenever I needed it. I’m sorry for all my cilakakness. Let’s learn from our mistakes and try to be a better person next year. Besides shouting like some mad fella at 12am later, maybe we can take 10 seconds to pray for world peace. I hope next year will be no war, no disaster and everyone will not be starving. Make 2012 more umpph than 2011. 2011 is awesome. 2012 will be lagi teramat awesome! USH!

Happy Mother's Day

It’s Mother’s Day today (8th May). I know no point I wish my mum’s a Happy Mother’s Day here. As if she can hear or read this. She’s computer illiterate and she can’t read English. This post is just to say that today is Mother’s Day. And I just wana express my love to mum. I love her no matter what I do and no matter where I am till the day I die.

This is what I posted in Facebook a while ago.

“I know it’s mother’s day today. But what the heck la you make a wish here? As if your mum got Facebook and Twitter. If you are that loving, go to your mum, wish Happy Mother’s Day to her face, give her a big warm hug and kiss her cheek. How’s that?? Dare or not?? I wonder if no social networks, where and how you gona tell the world and your mum that you love her…”

I really don’t understand why people wish their mother in Facebook lo. Can’t you just use the time and energy to SMS them? Or call them? Okla for those mums that have Facebook then okla. And if no money to call back, okla use Internet la.

But the funny thing is they even wish other people’s mum.

HALOOOOO! Other people’s mother also your mother ah? Mother eh you!

Please let me use a phrase from Mr Patrick Teoh, “niamah!”

At least, pray quietly in your heart wishing her a good health n happy life. Oh yeah, I’ve been doing that. See, easy and free.

Instead of keeping photos of yourself, or your friends’ photos or your lover’s photos in your wallet or purse, why don’t you keep a photo of your family? Will you be here without them? I’m not condemning la ok, but just think about what I said.

You see, I’ve been observing a trend or a behavior of human. You see when they say or ‘I pray that’ something something, do they really make a wish and pray?

NO!

Their wish and prayers never work. Saying and telling that they will wish you are just merely words to show support but it’s not really a truthful support.

Whenever you say to someone you pray that they will be good in something, make sure you really do it through your heart and not your mouth. If you are a believer, make the prayer through your religion.

Sorry la I just cannot accept people say they pray that bla bla bla but it’s just another kind of flowerish words.

People nowadays really macam-macam pun ada.

Very funny lah!

*Anyway, everyone in my house is packing up tonight cuz we are going back tomorrow. Woah have you seen a Packing Marathon before?? =p

*And mum, i'm going back later, so see you!

Happy World Press Freedom Day

This is my Yellow Ribbon in support of World Press Freedom Day. It was given to me in 2010 during the lauching of Speaker's Square in Esplanade, Penang.

Happy World Press Freedom Day everyone.

The celebration was on 3rd May 2011.

I know i am late for like 1 day but it's ok. I was and still occupied for my finals ma. World Press Freedom is not only for a day but throughout the whole day. The fight for a free press will be going on until we achieve it one day.

Coincidentally on World Press Freedom Day, i had an exam on the subject of Politics and Media. hahaa. How irony is that when in studies, we talk about media freedom but in actual life, we actually don't have that.

I wrote this in my Facebook yesterday: it's 12am. it's May 3rd. It's World Press Freedom Day. i just hope that one day, the media in Malaysia will be more independent, neutral and free from Government control. let us at least against racist media for nation sake.

I don't know what we can do actually. but let's do something. Let's make a demand, a protest or a boycott to bad media.

DO you know that Malaysia is now ranks 143 out of 196 countries in the latest Global Press Freedom Index released by Freedom House from USA? What do you think about that huh??

You can decide what press you want you know.. The choice is in your hand.

Mini Thaipusam? Many people don’t know about this celebration. We only know the real Thaipusam in the month of January or February.

Mini Thaipusam or the real name is Chithirai Pournami. It is actually the 1st Full Moon of Tamil Calendar. As usual, there’ll be people carrying milk pot and kavadi.

I missed Thaipusam this year, as in not carrying kavadi and no piercing and I feel not good about it.

Mini Thaipusam is today and few days ago I planned to go for it but I can’t because yesterday is UTAR Ball. I need to be on vegetarian and stuff.

But now, the urge is there for me to at least go and have a look and pray. When I wana do something regarding religion, I’ll do it. It’s not good when you say and when you think you wana do something religious but at the end you didn’t.

It’s all about your faith.

I still don’t feel good about UTAR Ball because there are many problems to be settled.

It’s ok.. let me go pray first.

i'll be on vegetarian today.

Teluk Intan here i come.

Nothing and no one I can count on to now except for religion.

At least religion is true, religion will never lie on me.

Happy International Women's Day

Happy International Women's Day to all the females in the world.

I know i am late 3 hours but still, Happy International Women's Day to all/

I really hope there'll be no more violence against women, no domestic abuse, no slavery, no misuse of women and no bad things against the women.

I also hope that there will be more feminism movements in this country.

say NO to gender discrimination!

men or women all are equal. when i say equel, means equality in treatment. u dun stupid come and tell me women can't be strong as man, standing while peeing, have penis, wear jeans, or have beard.

come la don't be so naive la.

equality means give equal treatment to women. if a man can get a good job, so does a hardworking and smart woman.

don't ever look down on the power and strength and ability and the spirit of women!

Women deserved love, care, attention, respect, understanding, and support like the men TOO.

We need each other to make this world better.

The world will never be a better olace without women.

Just think who does most of the hardworks especially in your life?

Your MOTHER la! And what is her gender?? Of course female la duh!! takkan your mother male meh!! dun tell me your matha is a man la! wat the heck!!

SO RESPECT WOMEN LIKE YOUR MOTHER!

Lastly, this is what i posted in my Facebook, "Happy International Women's Day. Let's be more respectful to them and treat them equally. When you wana do something bad on them, imagine they are like your mum too. becareful later kena ROTAN!"

Ok, my brain is hang! my brain is blank. i duno what i'm talking about. eye lids are gluing to each other. many people are still awake doing their assignments. good luck n rest early.

ok. tq. good nite. bye bye.

Happy Maulidul Rasul

Kepada semua kawan-kawan beragama Islam,

Selamat menyambut Hari Keputeraan Nabi Muhammad S.A.W.

Selamat Hari Maulidul Rasul.

Happy Valentine Day

Today is 14 February which is the well-known Valentine Day throughout the world.

In Malaysia, the people celebrate it too and it's definitely a Western culture.

But who cares where it came from as Malaysians adopt a lot of culture from all over the world.

but recently there's a HOT issue again, the controversial Valentine Day.

The oppositional political party, PAS is acting like a moral police while Islamic body, JAKIM is saying that Valentine Day is a day where vice activities happen.

sweat. what a moron statement. ignorant.

i'm not gona comment about that in this post.

what i wana say is Valentine Day is just a day to celebrate and commemorate love with your loved ones be it, mother, father, lover and even friends.

Let me show you my version of Valentine Day.

http://www.facebook.com/?sk=messages&tid=1556016383848#!/album.php?id=599962876&aid=125577

View this album in my Facebook.

Lastly Happy Valentine Day to all.

or Selamat Hari Maksiat?

haha! Who knows one day the government might just make Valentine’s Day into Hari Maksiat?

Anything is possible in this Boleh Land.

Only in Malaysia.

CNY: wonderful time

CNY is such a wonderful time when u get to see the toothless cute smile from your grandparents, play poker with relatives and cousins, visit old frens and have a long chat, meet up with god sis, get a warm hugsss, spend time with your loved ones, play firecrackers with siblings and most importantly blessing from ur parents, other than the typical angpau n cookies.
