This blog has been untouched for almost 2 weeks. Now the owner is back!!
Uh la la..
I am home, finally. I am home in Malaysia. I am home in Penang. I said before and I’ll say it again, nothing feels better than home. Malaysia is still the best.
It’s awesome to meet my family members once i arrived in Penang. Kwan Yee sent me to my amma’s house. My mum was waiting me there to fetch me home. At home, home-made food were waiting to fill my hungry stomach.
Some of you might not know where I went. I just came back from a 10 days backpacking trip with Kwan Yee and Pei Suang to 3 countries, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.
It was great. I have too many stories to share but not here this time.
I just wana say that I am safe and sound, still as skinny as always.
My begpack weighed 17kg! damn! I had to pay USD18 to check in my begpack. Haha.
I brought RM1.5k for the trip and back with only RM20. Haha. At least I have RM20 savings. Transportation cost a lot of money. That’s why I couldn’t buy a lot of souvenirs for friends. Budget a bit tight and I don’t know what I should buy. Sorry my friends.
Sorry to Kim as well. I couldn’t find selling hand-made soap in these countries, what more a normal soap. Only groceries sell it. I didn’t buy anyway.
I bought some gifts for my family members and some friends. Hope they like it though.
Eventhough we went to only 3 countries, but we had 5 currencies. What is funny throughout the whoel journey is 3 of us are sucks in Maths. Everytime when we have to pay, there will be problem. And we took a lot of times to do the conversion of currencies. =p
One thing I’m surprised is I didn’t have stomachache or lausai during the trip. Not at all. But now after back home, I lausia!! Wat the shit. ..
Thanks to Sarah Khoo for lending me her sleeping beg. It meant a lot for me as I slept in Bangkok Train Station for our first night and in Siem Reap International Airport for our last night.
Total clothes to be washed are: 6 shirts, 3 pants, 2 underwears and a boxer. Hahaa.
Photos? It’s still in my pendrive. I haven’t transfer it yet. Too much of photos!
I have been sleeping the whole day besides than eating. I made nasi goreng for lunch and it’s damn yummy. Today shall be my rest and lepak day at home. A lot of unloading and cleaning up stuffs to do as well. I am still feeling sleepy right now.
Tomorrow will be a working day for Kwan Yee, as usual. As for me and Pei Suang, we’ll back to suffer, to do our serious business, finishing our Final Yeap Project and submit at the end of the month.
Many things are pending to be done. October shall be the month for FYP, the top priority.
Things have been good since I touched down from the flight yesterday. I got good news lasty night and this morning.
Hope everything will be good for everyone till we meet 2012.
Hi all. I will be away from Malaysia from today until 30th September. Mau p backpack la. Anything, pls don’t call me as I won’t b able to pick up. Email or FB msg me. I’ll reply if I can. My FB will be peaceful for a while.
okla i'm going to Thailand, Cambodia and Laos.
Will be back on 30/9/3011.
then having a camp in Pahang from 30/9/2011 - 2/10/2011.
I'm not alone. Kwan Yee n Pei Suang are coming alone.
wah so damn excited and nervous.
alrite got to go. train to Bangkok from Butterworth at 2pm.
Ok.. let’s see what to write for this post. Just a very short one la since I’m still very tired from the walk this morning. I slept after I reached home but I’m still very sleepy now.
I never missed Starwalk ever since I’m eligible to join it about 8 years ago I guess. When I first started taking part, the walk was held in the town, start from the Esplanade. Then they shift it to Bayan Lepas area where The Star HQ was located.
This year, in commemoration to The Star’s 40th Anniversary, the walk is back to hit the town. What makes it special is the route covers about 20 heritage sites along George Town Heritage Trail.
The starting and ending point this year was at Times Square at Jalan Datuk Keramat.
I went with my mum, sis and Tze Huey. I met some old friends and school teachers too. Of course The Star journalists as well especially Kow Kwan Yee. Kwan Yee is my snior from UTAR and she's doing well in The Star. I'm proud of her everytime i see her byline is the newspaper.
What was shocking is knowing that my not-so-athletic secondary school friend, Nixon Lai Chia Huey also took part and he’s in the 10KM Competition category. Unexpectedly I was met my Form 6 friends who are not kaki marathon, Lee Khai Keat and her girlfriend, Michelle Ooi don’t know what.
Every year I joined the Competition category which is 10KM. But this year for the very first time, I took part in 6KM Non-Competition category. Why? Because the participation fee is damn expensive for 10KM. More than RM10 ok. So not worth it. At the end of they race, they give you a certificate of participation only, not even a finishing medal. All this while RM10 only ok..
I never wanted to join Non-Competition category because I felt the category is so not competitive and 6KM is like so childish. Hahaaha. But it’s ok, it’s worth the money I paid. RM10 for 6KM this year. And the freebies we got are getting lesser. Seriously!
Khoo Teng Shin and her sister Khoo Sher Rynn (yes I remember their names) took part as well this year. Their dad was there, but don’t know where is aunty. This blur Teng Shin is so mensiasuehkan. He is a guy. It’s a he. He joined the Men’s Category. But he got the number and color for the Female’s Category. He finished the race in the Top 15 but too bad, at the finishing line, his sex ‘changed’. Hahaha. At the end, apa pun tarak!
One thing special about Starwalk this year is we were a passport with photos and descriptions of heritage sites along the route. We have to get a chop for each of the site in order to qualify for a special lucky draw by Sunshine Times Square.
Besides, more shutterbugs this year as there’s a photography competition on Starwalk Penang 2011 with the theme ‘Happy Starwalk Moments @ Heritage Spots’. Walaueh DSLR everywhere! I was busy shooting here and there. I am so gona join this contest. But.. I don't have close-up photos on people la. I totally forgotten about the theme. aiyah.. Don't care, i'll just try my luck la.
There were 150 lucky draw prizes. We didn’t get anything..again. we waited until 1pm plus plus. It rained heavily when the lucky draw was going on but when the session ends, the rain also stop. Cilakak betul! We were all wet waiting for our lucky number to be called ok..
Ok.. sign out and good night.
*got a lot of photos to share but lazy to upload la..
Usually it's located at the very back of your teeth.
You'll have more wisdom and wiser if you have a wisdom tooth is it?
I think many of you heard your friends complain about the pain they have to bear when the teeth is growing.
Some even fall sick and have fever.
Yes my wisdom tooth is coming out now, at the right hand side of my teeths.
IT IS SO DAMN PAINFUL!!
I can't chew when i eat, even when i don't use my right teeths.
Actually at the beginning of the year, it already started to grow but i didn't feel pain at all. Then it stop. So my wisdom tooth is only few milimetre.
In July i went to see dentist to clean my teeth. She saw my wisdom tooth. She said it wont grow anymore because it's blocked by another teeth. She gave me a option to either leave it or pluck it.
As i'm afraid of needle and unnecessarily pain, i chose the latter. Furthermore I was doing my internship in media industry, it'll be hard if i can't talk properly.
But these few days, it became so painful. I think it couldn't hold it anymore and it's coming out, makes it clash with another teeth.
The pain makes me so grumpy la.
I can't concentrate.
It's so distracting and it's affecting my daily life.
Wrong timing betul la..
Come out when i have nothing to do for a month la..
I have many important things to do at the moment you know.. I have my Final Year Project, sports event to attend and many more la. Plus, Im travelling oversea next week. How to travel with the unbearable pain..
How la..
I will only be in Penang this weekend. Sure no enough time to see dentist. If it's possible also, the dentist will pluck it and i'll bleed for several days. Then how to travel and eat?
I'm now in Kampar, Kampar where got good dentist? Mahal ah? Safe or not??
Adele's songs never let me down. I had a goosebump and my heart pause a while everytime i hear her songs. Her voice managed to caught my attention, make me stare deeply into the lyrics.
Someone Like You
I heard that you're settled down
That you found a girl and you're married now.
I heard that your dreams came true.
Guess she gave you things I didn't give to you.
Old friend, why are you so shy?
Ain't like you to hold back or hide from the light.
I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited
But I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it.
I had hoped you'd see my face and that you'd be reminded
That for me it isn't over
Never mind, I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you too
Don't forget me, I beg
"I'll remember", you said,
Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead.
Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead,
Yeah.
You know how the time flies
Only yesterday it was the time of our lives
We were born and raised
In a summer haze
Bound by the surprise of our glory days
I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited
But I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it.
I had hoped you'd see my face and that you'd be reminded
That for me it isn't over, yeah.
Never mind, I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you too
Don't forget me, I beg
"I'll remember", you said,
Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead.
Nothing compares
No worries or cares
Regrets and mistakes
They are memories made.
Who would have known how bittersweet this would taste?
Never mind, I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you too
Don't forget me, I beg
"I remember", you said,
Sometimes it lasts in love
But sometimes it hurts instead.
Never mind, I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you too
Don't forget me, I beg
"I'll remember", you said,
Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead.
Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead.
This is Elween Loke, my senior in Journalism. So cool right? I was so shocked to see his face in the newspaper just now. I'm happy for him. he's a smart ass la. He's working for a newspaper now by the way. Don't mess with a reporter i tell you. hahaha!
We always say that we don't know how to do and at the end we never do anything about it. But if we never start to do anything about it, we'll never do anything at the end. It's not about whether we know or not, but whether we want start to do something about it.
I don’t have to keep on adding or approving the so-called friends that I don’t even know who the heck they are in my Facebook to make it into thousands.
My true friends are countable through my fingers. Real friends are those who you remember their real names, full names, where they stay, what they do, where they from, their backgrounds, their phone numbers etc.
I’m glad I have those companions around me when I needed them anywhere anytime. These people are my real friends, friends that I meet face to face and we can talk for hours. Yes, we argue. We argue because we are true to each other.
I am forgetful. I do break promises. But I do my very best to lend a hand they need it. This I can assure..
I may not be a very good friend, but I’m true to those who I treat as my friends.
Some of you might have listened to some insight stories about my life and my family before. Congrats. You are the real friens.
You guys are in my heart no matter where you are..
I’m sorry but Facebook friends are not true friends. Facebook is just a network. It’s a link. It’s a social networking. It’s just a tool for us to keep in touch. It’s a place to build a new friendship but not really a real friendship. Real friendship does not happen all the time.
Ok enough talking.
You may have a different view.
*BUT hey I’ve met some really nice and good people in Facebook too. Some have became closer friends. Thank you. =p *
Selamat hari merdeka kepada kamu yang ber-IC warganegara Malaysia. Dun be racist. Each n everyone of u r Malaysians n thr’ll b no Malaysia without any of the races we hv. Patriotism is not only by waving the flag. It’s about what you feel and what you do to ur nation. Loving n stayin in ur nation is patriotic too..
Let’s celebrate this day with the right freedom, peace and respect towards each other.
Wohooo! Finally it’s Hari Raya! Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitiri buat semua rakan tak kira di mana anda berada. Hati-hati kalau balik kampung. Makanlah byk2 sampai perut buncit. Sekiranya ada silap n salah, percakapan atau perbuatan, saya minta maaf byk2. Semoga Raya ini penuh dgn kemaafan, keinsafan, keamanan, cinta dan kasih sayang.
Everytime whenver it's Raya or Deepavali, i will sure go back to Penang. Never miss! But this Raya, i'm working. I'll only be back on the 3rd Raya.
Friends asked me before, why do i want to spend money travel home? Raya and Deepavali is not even my celebrations. Eh, i celebrate. I feel so awkward for not celebrating it. Raya and Deepavali are already part of my culture. I'll visit my friends during these festivals.
At the end, i'm the few Chinese who will go back hometown, the rest, stay in the hostel and do their own things or go back for holidays.
I miss home la.
My friends in Penang, wait for me, i'm coming home.. soon!
I guess i'll go back on Wednesday la although i supposed to work. I'll apply for MC or emergency leave la ok. haha. September 6 i must be in uni. I don't wana stay in KL then straight to uni for internship presentation. If i don't go back Penang now, i have to wait till 11th because 11th i need to be in KL for an event.
Blablabla i talk too much. Ok set, i'm going back to Penang then Kampar then KL. At least i can rest in Penang, meet up my friends and spend time with family.
I can't wait for these 3 occasions la. Please cepat-cepat datang.
I need to start do my packing already. i seriously di not know how am i going to carry all these things back to Penang la.
No, no acking tonight. I'm to tired and worn out. I went to Broga Town at 6am this morning with Adeline Wok and reached home at 5pm. Slept straight away but not so blur, macam drunken master.
It has already been 3 months. Finally that's the end of internship for many of us. Some are happy but definitely most of us feel nostalgic and sad. Internship has open up our eyes and mind isn't it? Don't forget to thank your seniors and boss. Must take photos tau!! =p
But my internship ends on 31st August. I have 5 more days to go. Interns are needed on Hari Raya..
Well, i have to be confident in what i'm good at right.
I wanted to print it few years back but where got money la.. And i have no friends to help me design.
But now, some wonderful people are helping me. Wei Vern is designing the card for me. Eh she's very good in that. Lydia is sponsoring me for the name card. How nice are they. Thank you..
Name card is so important if i wana make some money from photography. I need to promote myself. I need to make people aware of my existence.
I know name card is not enough.. One step at one time la. After this, maybe i'll come up with my own domain and put watermark on my photos. see la how..
If you guys have any suggestion on the design, colours, contents etc, let me know k. thank you.
Boring ah newspaper melay* ni. Merepek, merapu, mengarut, mencarut. Semua pasal gossip, kontroversi, menghina, meghasut, mencemar nama orang, cerita rekaan semua ada. Pening sampai keluar air mata darah gua baca!
*eh this has nothing to do at all with race ok. I’m just talking about the newspaper. Don’t get me wrong,*
Time flies so fast. I’m here in KL for 3 months already.
I still have many things that I wana do here but time is running out.
I feel a bit sad for leaving this place especially the people here.
What makes me stronger each day staying in this concrete and alien jungle is friendship. Without friends, my life will be so dull.
They lighted up my life. They added colours to KL.
I may forget to thanks them in person all the time, but I thank them deep inside my heart and I keep them in my prayers. I remember them.
There are people who i already met but I wana meet them again. And there are people who I haven’t met and I definitely want to meet them before I go back to Penang.
Well, they are not superstars, VIPs or celebrities. They are friends..
I know it will be hard because I wana meet so many people and we all have our own things to do. I’m here for only about 7 days. I’m working everyday from morning till late evening and I’m involved in a theatre production every night. I haven’t done cleaning my room and packing my luggage.
Haih..
Anyhow, I would still love to meet up and have a short chat with you..
