Transsexuals: Respect Their Choice

Sunday, 06 December 2009 13:38

LETTER I think most of us aware of the predicament faced by the Malaysian transsexual who got married in UK. This is my take on the matter.

Well, I’m emotionally disturbed by the public response towards the marriage of Fatine Min Bahari with Ian Young.

Our Malaysian Immigration Department alleged that Fatine has overstayed in UK. If she is found guilty, Fatine will not be able to leave the country for two years.

This couple brings no harm to you personally nor the security of UK and Malaysia. They are not a threat to anyone. If we don’t want people to stop us from doing what we like and what is best for us, then why must we stop others from choosing what they like? It’s their individual right to choose their life partner.

Now we are causing them harm instead. Malaysia seems to be a threat to the couple. She is so afraid to return home because of the discrimination against people like her. Her act is unacceptable by the Malays, according to her. She might also be punished under the Syariah law for marrying a person with the same sex.

Their marriage may against Malaysian cultures and traditions but they should not become an obstacle for people on how they choose to live. Sometimes our norms, beliefs, cultures, and traditions ‘kill’ the goodness in us.

Some of them are not even relevant in today’s world. The world is evolving, we are moving forward and things changed. Don’t persecute people who are different from us. These people deserve the way of life they want to be and choose to live.

No one is born with the same personality. You may enjoy something that others don’t and vice versa. So respect others and don’t be selfish. We can’t expect others to be like us.

By wanting to be together, they don’t harm our environment, they don’t commit any crime, they don’t terrorize any country, they don’t make you lose your job, and they don’t kill, rob or smuggle drugs.

Human are different. That is a fact. Therefore, we must accept the differences among us. We should celebrate the differences in us and stay united in diversity.

Some people choose to stay single, some choose to marry with someone chosen by their parents, some people prefer inter-marriage, some people choose to have partner from the same gender, and to Fatine and Young, they chose the marriage that they want. They have every right to stay together.

So what if they are straight or not straight? So what if they are bixesual? So what if they are gay or lesbian? So what if they are transsexual? So what if they are pondan or tomboy? So what if they don’t have any feelings towards male or female? And so what if they date an animal.

You may be against it, but it’s their life. They just want to be happy together. And the rest of us owe it to them to grant them that happiness.

If it’s against their religion, let God judge and punish them, not us. God never say we can discriminate and condemn people who are different from us.

No matter what Fantine chooses, it’s her decision. She has already made up her mind. It’s her choice. This is what she wants. This is what makes her comfortable with. She’s happy with it. So we have to accept and respect it.

Accept the fact that she’s a woman now with the characteristics of a man. We can’t change her back to a man.

Malaysians must stop being ‘close-minded’. We must dare to accept changes, whether in our government, our education system, our lifestyles, our way of thinking, and other aspects in life.

This form of sexual discrimination is another major problem in Malaysia besides bureaucracy, racism, career opportunities, retrenchment, gender bias, corruption, exam-oriented education system, cronyism, freedom of expression, violation of human rights, crime, political instability etc.

These are the issues causing many Malaysians to work or migrate overseas and never want to come back.

We can certainly do with one problem less. Allow Fantine and her husband to be happy. Surely, that is not too much to ask.

saturday 5 december 2009

At the time I’m writing this, im already on the way back to Penang. The bus departed from Kampar Old Town at 11.40pm although the bus supposed to reach by 11.15am. Now im in front of Jaya Jusco. The journey will takes at least 3 hours because it is Kurnia Bestari bus. If I hava a choice, I wouldn’t choose this bus because trust me, it will make your journey an awful one.

Students of my uni is going down to KL tomorrow for a seminar on Parlimentary System of Malaysia. I want to go but If I go, I’ll lose a lot of stuffs in Penang. These students will be like the participants from UTAR la. they’ll get softskill points. Something like our secondary school KK points.

Nevermind. Next time la. it’s not that they are going for Dewan Rakyat’s sitting or meet the Member of Parliament session. It’s just a talk. To get something, we must lose something.

Actually, I have French class today until 4.30pm but I left at 10.30am after I finished the 3 tests. Today is the last day of class. Nevermind la skip class once a while. Hehe. I’m helping Arts-ED/Anak-Anak Kota to take pictures of the Heritage Heboh Festival. Then in the evening Im attending my Form 6 friend, Maleni’s birthday at Batu Ferringghi.

Tomorrow, Sunday, I wana go to Kek Lok Si Temple in Air Itam because there’ll be an opening ceremony for the new Kuan Im statue at 8am. Then I’ll head to PC Fair in PISA before I go to town at 3.30pm for Penang Heritage Trust’s site visit to a newly opened Malay Musuem at Jalan Hutton. The last mission for Sunday will be to attack Popular Book Sales. I LOVE books.

So if I don’t go back now, I think I’ll regret more for losing the chance to attend this events. Plus, I need to go see dentist on Monday and see doctor for a blood test. Saja je. I never test will blood before. Who knows my blood is dirty, contains virus or what. =p

Tennee is going back to Penang as well today in the evening. She’s driving alone. Geram ooo. This morning only she told me she’s going back. If I knew it earlier, we can go back together by car ma. At least she has a companion right. If she’s tired, I can drive. If she’s lonely, I can talk to her. =p hope she’ll reach Penang safely la.

I feel sad. Usually I’ll be so looking forward to go back to Penang but this time something is just holding me back. time passes so fast. It’s already a year im in Kampar. This is already the end of Semester 3. Im still in denial that we grow up each day and when we look back, oh my gosh, one year already?!! Why things happen so fast without we realising it? We always complain this and that but at one

When we were small, we always wish that we’ll grow up fast, be like an adult, do what the adults do. We want to go out with friends, to date a girl, go clubbing, wear nice clothes, travel here and there ect. But when we already grown up, we miss being young again. we dream to get back to our childhood time. A time where we live withour stress, without musch homeworks, without have to use our own money to buy our clothes etc, without the scoldings from out boss, without

That’s why people, enjoy la. make use of every seconds you have. Appreciate your life by doing the right thing and let yourself to explore the world. When u have missed a chance, it’s not easy to get it back. time never stops from walking. The Earth never stop putaring. And human never stop from growing.

Journey of life wil never end. For me, it’s a everlasting one from the moment we came to this world, to the moment we grown up, enter university, working, get married, have babies, sick and die. every second in this world is a bless. It’s a bless if we can use our strength to touch people’s lives and to contribute to the society.

I think each and everyone of us should take this last few weeks of 2009 to do some reflection and soul searching. Try to get back on our feet and improve our lives. Try not to repeat our mistakes next year. Try to be humble, honest and truthful to ourself to think deeply who have we hurt by our words and actions, and then to apologise to them. let’s also try to make some charity to the people we need it more then we do.

Ok.. it’s  2pm now. im sleepy. I think I talk a lot, don’t i? haha. who cares! If you like, you read on. If you don’t, just go off. I don’t force you to read. My thoughts are my thoughts. No one can please everyone to give what others want.

Have a good day people.

Good night. tata.

Live and Let Live, Respect Lifestyle Choices

Oh Chin Eng

5:58pm

I refer to the Malaysiakini report ''M'sian transsexual fighting deportation in UK to be punished''. I think most of us already know this news about the Malaysian transsexual that wants to get married in the UK. So this is what I got to say.

Well, I'm emotionally disturbed by the public's response towards the marriage of Fatine Min Baharin with Ian Young. Our Malaysian Immigration Department has alleged that Fatine has overstayed in the UK. If found guilty, she'll be barred from leaving this country for two years.

This couple haven't harmed you personally nor threatened the security of UK and Malaysia. They are not a threat to anyone. If we don't want people to stop us from doing what we like, then why stop others from doing what they like? Within limits, of course. In this case, it's their individual right to choose their own life partner.

Now we are hurting them for no reason. Now Malaysia seems to be a threat to this couple. She is so afraid to come back to Malaysia because of the discrimination and hatred for people like her. Her act is unacceptable by the Malays, according to her. She might also be caught under the Syariah law for marrying a person of the same sex.

Their marriage may seems to be against the norm of Malaysians but culture and tradition should not be a rule or obstacle for someone to live their life. Sometimes our norms, beliefs, cultures, and traditions can kill. Some of these are not even relevant to us in today's world.

The world is evolving, we are moving forward and things have changed. Don't hate people who are different then us. These people deserve the way of life they want to be. No one is born with the same personality. You may enjoy something that others don't and vice-versa. So respect others and don't be selfish.

We can't expect others to be like us. Anyway by being together, Fatine and Ian don't intend our harm our environment, they don't commit any crime, they's don't terrorise any countries, they don't make you lose your job, and neither do they intend to kill, rob, steal or smuggle drugs.

All humans are different. That is a fact. Therefore, we must accept the differences among us. We should celebrate the differences in us and stay united in our diversity.

Some people choose to stay single, some choose to get married to someone chosen by their parents, some people prefer to have inter-marriages, some people choose to have partners from the same gender and to Fatine and Young, they chose to marry one another.

They have every right in the world to stay together. So what if they are straight or not straight? So what if they are bisexual? So what if they are gay or lesbian? So what if they are transsexual?

So what if they are 'pengkid' or a tomboy? So what if they don't have any feelings towards other males or females? And so what if they date an animal?!

You might against it but it's their life so let them do what they want with it. After all, the world should be happy because they are happy.

If it's against their religions, let God judge and punish them, not us. God never said we could discriminate and condemn people who are different from us, right?

No matter what Fatine chooses, it's her decision. She has already made up her mind. It's her choice. This is what she wants. This is what makes her comfortable. She's happy with it. So just accept and respect it.

Accept the fact that she's a woman now with the characteristics of a man. We can't change her back to a man.

Malaysians must stop letting themselves be associated with the term 'close-minded'. We must dare to accept changes, whether in our government, our education system, our lifestyles, our way of thinking, and any other aspect of life.

This is one of the problems in Malaysia besides then issue of bureaucracy, racism, poor career opportunities, retrenchment, gender bias, corruption, an exam-oriented education system, cronyism, lack of freedom of expression, violation of human rights, crime, political instability etc.

These problems make our future generation want to work overseas and never want to come back. If the government is nice to its people, I believe, the people will be willing to die for their government. Treat others as you would like to be treated!

Respect Their Choice

I think most of us already know the news about the Malaysian transsexual that got married in UK. So this is what I got to say. It’s just my opinion. If you don’t agree, don’t make a fuss about it. Respect freedom of expression. Tq.

Transsexual Worries for Safety After Negative Reaction to 'Marriage'

Controversial ‘marriage’: Mohammed Fazdil or Fatine and Young posing for a photo after they were married in a civil partnership in the UK last May.

LONDON: Malaysian transsexual Mohammed Fazdil Min Bahari is afraid to return home due to the negative reactions over her marriage to a Briton.

She has received a lot of negative e-mails and comments from people, some even accusing her of insulting the Malaysian government.

Mohammed Fazdil or Fatine, said she felt frustrated that people did not understand she had come to the United Kingdom because she wanted to be with the man she loved.

She added that she could not do that in Malaysia and people in the country seemed to be taking a religious point of view over the matter.

“I am so frightened to go back. I am worried for my safety,” she said in response to what she claimed was the inaccurate portrayal of their love story by a Malay tabloid which caused the negative reactions.

Speaking up for the first time after The Sun newspaper in London broke the story, Fatine said she did not know what to do as her family had already disowned her.

“I’ve spent hours on the phone asking for forgiveness. I love them but I can’t change what has happened,” said the 36-year-old makeup artist.

Fatine said it was a shame that the article had twisted their story as it was never their intention to insult the Malay community.

“They also put my father’s name in it, which was unnecessary and my mother is now afraid to leave the house,” she added.

Fatine also said that she understood that the Malays were very traditional and that “people like me aren’t acceptable”, but she hoped things would cool down eventually.

Fatine, who married Ian Young in a civil partnership in May, faces deportation back to Malaysia after her Leave to Remain visa was rejected by the Home Office over an “incorrect” photograph.

A second application with a passport photograph with a white background as required, instead of blue, was submitted for reconsideration but it was also thrown out in October.

The pair has just submitted their third application for a Right to Family Life under the Human Rights Act in Britain.

On Monday, Immigration director-general Datuk Abdul Rahman Othman said the department might take action against Fatine when she returned home as it viewed problems like overstaying seriously.

Young, 30, however, maintained that Fatine’s application was still being processed by the UK Border Agency and she should not be classified as an overstayer.

“All we want is to be married, happy and living together.

“The only way we can do this is over here in the UK,” said Young, who runs a property maintenance company.

He said the article also made it sound like they were trying to make a mockery of Muslim laws, which was never their intention.

“As a result of the way we have been portrayed, I now feel that we would be in more danger than ever if we were to try and live in Malaysia,” he added.

double DOUBLE happiness

Syukur.. what a good day today. I really had a very day good and prosperous day indeed.

Double double happiness! Means 4 happy things that happened today. ‘xuan xuan xi’.

1. As u all know, I got into the final of public speaking.

So I don’t have to repeat it again. But I want to say that despite the success, I managed to bring joy and excitement to people through my speech. How wonderful is that.

I want to say thank you again to everyone who were there. you guys made my Semester 3 so happening.

Trust me or not, THIS IS THE MOST HAPPIEST MOMENT BEING A UTARIAN IN UTAR KAMPAR AFTER ALMOST A YEAR.

Not to count the happiness with friends la.

2. A friend in uni told me that she saw me on TV.

I was like what??!! Why! For what? What am I doing there in TV?? All those questions popped up. im was so eager n excited to know the details.

She said I appeared in RTM 2 aka TV2 after the evening news. I was learning how to make kuih. According to her, I said that I took 1 week to persuade the kuih seller to teach how to make the kuih.

Then I start to remember about the interview that RTM did on me end of last night if im not mistaken. I couldn’t really recall exactly what happened during the interview la. I think there was also a person with me when the RTM journalist interview. Hmmm.. my sayang I guess, cuz the person took pic of me when the interview is going on.

They actually want to introduce the local delicacy that is popular in Penang. Sheau Fung from PHT called me to bring them there. So I brought them to Market Street where this Indian Muslim uncle sells the best samosa in Penang. Really sedap.

She asked me la the history of the shop, the seller, the samosa, about how I got involved with AAK n PHT, my feelings towards heritage etc etc lo. It’s so funny because I was talking in my broken Chinese with limited vocabulary. The show is in Mandarin ma.

Then the lady journalist asked me to demonstrate how to make samosa. Zzz.. I don’t think I learn how to make samosa before. I only interviewed them, watched them n eat samosa. Hmmm.. so for the very first time, I got the privilege to make samosa with the bos’s guidance. What a interesting experience.

I thought they show the programme already. Haha. I was wrong!

Thanks to AAK, PHT, ARTS-ED, I got a lot of exposures on many aspects in life, work and relationship. Through this NGOs, I learn performing arts, music, acting, interview skills, how to do research data management, how to do a good questionnaire, how to do good mind map, how to do documentation, event production stuff, appreaciation and the values of cultural heritage and heritage tour guiding.

Thanks to them also I found my love and I got to know Heritage Mafia and Kaki Penang. I miss Janet Pillai’s scoldings. I miss Sheau Fung. I miss Yoke Pinn.

I learn more about my root, my state’s history, the cultural heritage, the people of Penang and what's in their mind.

Talking about me on TV, I thought of these funny incidents. Im very kaypo aka busybody in my hometown, Penang. Whenever n wherever there are accidents, disasters, events, etc etc, I’ll be there..with all press. So nice to be with them at the front row to take pictures. Hahha. So the funny thing is I appeared on the newspaper quite a number of time…accidentally. Haha. the story is not about me but my picture was in there. it’s not my intention to be in the shot but it just so coincident that I was there. haha. I accidentally become popular lo.

3. Someone, my coursemate la, she suddenly said that “u noe i think ur more important to me den my bf. i think like secara tak langsung i think u are more important as a fren la!! r maybe we shud get married”

Fuh! I totally gone blank. What a statement. It sounds so wrong la. gila la her. so random. Don’t worry. No, she is not falling in love on me. haha.

Don’t la. not me la. go find some better guys in UTAR la. I also don’t want la. hmmm.. I just think feel ok to date someone in the uni especially your coursemate. So hard la. what if you argue, then your friends will have a very hard time to think who should they support. And what if the couple break up, it’ll be super awkward then.

So better keep the friendship then to ruin it.

I said to her, "cz im ur fren ma, we r clasmate n coursemate wat. we r clos wat."

At least I know la im a good fren to her although she’s a bit cracko. Kind of sampat. hehe. I never thought that someone will say that to me. Something that a friend won't say. Something that sounds like a person likes me. I feel delighted about it. Yeala, so long already no one says such thing to me. Although im close with other coursemates as well, we don’t say such things la. malu la. shy la. if love love pun, just keep it in our heart la. take this 3 years to know each other better lo.

4. My roommate, Siang Yong is home. What a surprise. I thought he’ll only be home tomorrow. Anyway im so happy to see him. Very happy.

we go gay in the house, yell, scream, sing and camwhoring. Haha. I’ll show u his sexy photos. Oh he took some sexy shots of me too. Waaa bergay manyak syiok.

I asked him to massage me. hmm.. there’s room for improvement.

CONCLUSION
I had a bad Semester 2. Now, I feel good things start to happen towards end of the year. Isn’t it a good thing? Let’s work harder and achieve more. Well.. if I don’t work hard now and try to achieve my dreams, when else to do that? Opportunities don’t always come.

into the FINAL

The public speaking competition has ended. And im just home, walking under the rain from uni.

Heheheheh. People im in FINAL!!

Wooohooo! Clap clap clap! Clap more. =p sorry im too happy. okok chill. Don’t show off. No no im not. Im just being expressive.

Im one of the 5 finalists in my category la. I got second placing, my senior, a lady got the first placing. Okla tu. im happy and thankful. The girl is good. Really good. No doubt. =p

Anyway im the only guy in the final lo. Final when I don’t know lo. Definitely it will be in next year la because this semester ends this week then exam d.

What a nice feeling to be on stage again and be the limelight of the competition. ahah.

In my previous post, I said no one will wears traditional clothe. IM WRONG! Oopps! Sorry. There are few girls who were wearing traditional clothes. 3 or 4 of them if im not mistaken. Only me the only guy with traditional clothe.

Tonight got pasar malam. LOK-LOK. But it’s still raining out there la.

Ok people good night.

Im too tired la. stay up the whole nite leh. exhausted. Starving. Feel like puking because of the air in my stomach. Pimples everywhere. Grrhhh.

But it’s all worth it la.

I’ll blog about the competition after im FREE la. this week is a real busy hectic stressful n kepala pecah week.

Thank you God.
Thank you ammi papa.
Thank you my lecturers.
Thank you to the person behind 120806
Thank you my JR January 2009 intake coursemates.
Thank you my JR seniors.
Thank you my friends from Penang.
Thank you my uni friends.
Thank you to the audience.
Thank you my coconut shell chain.

Thank you.

The Time Is Now

Pagi yang gelap, kini sudah terang.

The time is now..
Di sini masanya..

In just less then 2 hours, I’ll be up on stage. I think everyone of us will feel so proud to be up there…if we were to receive an award or a prize. But I think most of us will freak out and runaway if we were to ask to perform a show or to talk on the stage.

Do greatly or die badly.

I didn’t sleep the whole night. I spent it by memorising, practising n yelling when everyone else was having their sweet dream. Now I have a dark black eye ring under my eyes.  My throat feels so dry. N I am damn sleepy right now. very sleepy.

I feel like puking so badly due to lack of sleep. How interesting, im having diarrhea now. =p other then that, I keep pharting from my a** n my mouth because I ‘consumed’ too much air. I drink a lot of water n I pee every 15mins.

Thank you UTAR DSSC for calling me at 9.05am to remind me about the competition. I wont forget lah…

I went to temple early early in the morning. I asked for blessing n a peace of mind. well.. I need to calm myself down ma. Usually if im in Penang, I’ll pray at home before I go for a competition and a long journey.

Before this i was having dilemma on what traditional clothe to wear, Samfu or Baju Melayu. i never wear Samfu in uni but i don't have the pants. My Samfu look really awesome. =p At the end i chose Baju Melayu because the 3 judges are Malays. Maybe they'll feel impressed because a Chinese is wearing a Malay traditional clothe. After all, trust me, no one will wear traditional clothe except me. If got also, maybe ONE only.

I nk pergi dah. Ok im going out now. im wearing the lucky chain, that I always wear for the pass 3 years, made from coconut shell with the number ‘12/8’.

Let’s break their leg, break their hand and their head as well.

Are you ready?

YES I’M READY!

I WANT TO MAKE HISTORY

Sakit perut! arrghh! Sakit perut means stomachache la. so damn painful la. no no. not beause I ate wrong thing or because I didn’t eat anything.

It is because…

I AM SO EXCITED AND NERVOUS!!!

I keep thinking of my public speaking competition tomorrow. Im taking part in Bahasa Malaysia category. It’s like a dream come true to compete in such competition.

The adrenaline all gushed up.

Fuh! Hati I duk berdegup-degup, berdupdap-dupdap, berdebar-debar macam nak tercabut! Fuhhh! Dengan penuh keterujaan, aku menunggu hari esok. =p

It has been at least 3 years since I felt this way. The last time I took part in public speaking was in 2007 when I was in Upper 6 and I emerged as the 1st Runner Up in the state level.

Im doing my speech alone. Of course I ask for ideas from friends n lecturers. Im not perfect you know. Hmmm.. when she was still here, I always ask for her opinion, we discus, we argue n we make the decision together. 2 brains are always better then 1 brain what.

Well.. of cos I nak menang. But if tak menang apa nak buat kan. means that other ppl is better then me. winning or losing is just a matter of a title. The important thing is whether you have do your best or not. And I can proudly say that I have support from my coursemates, from my ex-classmates from Penang, and  from the people I know. Your support give a me courage and confident to say what I wanted to say.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you. Let’s wait for tomoorow. Hope to see you people tmr my classmates. I’ll be very very VERY happy to c u guys thr.  =p

Let’s memorise and practise hard hard tonight.

I WANT TO MAKE HISTORY.. AGAIN!

QUOTE of the day

"Times are running so fast. I just want to look back to CORRECT all my mistakes NOT to be foolishly NOSTALGIC. There are times when we need to sit and look at what we did/faced. Being a human the tendency to repeat history is there. Make it a solutions December."

Cheong Jing Wen and Saravani Selvam are my coursemates. We are not in the same class this semester but they have been so helpful all this while.

I want my speech to be colourful and unique. I want to use some Chinese and Tamil words. So Jing Wen help me in Chinese and Sara in Tamil.

These are the 2 sentences in Chinese from Jing Wen.

wo men shuo bu tong de yu yan,wo men you bu tong de wen hua,dan wo men zhu zai tong yi pian tu di.”

“bu lun wo men zuo ren he shi qing, bu lun wo men shen zai he fang, jin guan wo men shuo bu tong de yu yan, jin guan wo men you bu tong de wen hua,wo men shi zhong ji de ma lai si ya shi wo men de jia.”

And these are the 2 sentences in Tamil by Sara.

“ORE NAADU,NAMATHU NAADU, MALESIA, ANAIVARUM ENAINTHU SEYALPADUVOM.”

“PALAINAM, PALAMOLZHIGAL, PALAKALACHARAM, KONDA ORE NAADU NAAM MALAYSIA.”

last night's thoughts tonight

Had some thoughts last night before I slept. So this was what in my mind last night.

1.       Waaaa.. the moon is so bright tonight. So romantic. Waaaa look at the stars. Twinkle twinkle little stars. How nice if I have a mat now. I’ll definitely sleep under the sky accompanied by the moon n the stars.

2.       Hmmm.. the whole house is so empty tonite. EMPTY! QUIET! SUNYI! SEPI! DIAM! Eeew.. everyone has gone back to their hometown because of Hari Raya Haji public holiday. Again, im all alone in this 3-storey mansion. Roommate also went back.

3.       The whole Westlake is like a dead town. Everyone went home. Many of them will have their unofficial holidays for next week, continue by study week. Then only they’ll come back here for exam. they don’t care avout the attendance already la. barred list is out. Most of the subjects are Pass/Fail subjects. No one really study hard for it.

4.       What should I wear for my public speaking competition huh? Samfu? Bcoz I nvr wear that in UTAR yet. Baju Melayu? Bcoz the 3 judges r Malay, can impress them la. 1Malaysia ma.

5.       I wana go home. So sudden I know. Just feel like going home la. hmmm.. should I should i? =p if I go back, I’ll go lepak or I’ll just sleep at home la. hmmm.. I won’t do my speech.

6.       When I go home next Saturday, I wana go watch 2012 or New Moon. I wana ask her out. I know it’s not gona work, but ask only ma..

7.       Now I realised what she used to tell me is true. Im not saying that I didn’t trust her just that it’s not my culture to put some water on the plate after we finish eating. Malay n Indians share this belief. Im smiling alone in my room, recalling the moment she poured water on my plate and said ‘mama I kata lepas makan mesti letak air. Tak baik biar pinggan kering.’ =p
