I just got to know that I have presentation next week. This means I have 1 presentation this week, 2 presentations and 1 midterm next week. The subjects are not easy subjects ok.

So how can I sleep? No not gona have a nap. Oh God. no… but yes! Sleepless nights are gona begin. My sleep time will be reduce again. my nigth time will become day time and vice versa. New mission for these 2weeks. Less FB and MSN, ok to blog n Twitter. Yes I can do it! Hehe.

So What’s gona happen today?

Do laundry.
Buy dinner.
Go to the bank to pay rental.

I’ve been travelling every weekends non-stop since Chinese New Year break. This week im going down to KL. Next week going up to Penang. Fuh..

Okla got to go. I need to do my things-to-do now. hmmm.. it’s easy to say but hard to do I know. I’ll do what I said! tonight will be another night without lights. Haih…

Moon on Chap Goh Meh

This photo was taken on Chap Goh Meh which is the 15th day or the last day of Chinese New Year 2010 at Poh Hock Seah, Twa Pek Kong Temple Penang. It was full moon on that night. Don’t mind about the angle la ye. I know it’s a bit out of shape.

rezeki

Jike diberi betis, jangan lagi diminta paha.

2010 IS GONA BE A GREAT YEAR.

muntah puke loya vomit

Location: Kampar.

I just bathed. But before that I finally puked. I shitted. Berak la..

I felt so dizzy in the bus, black out for few seconds. I almost puked but I hold on. I closed my eyes and I prayed hard. Oxygen was like so hard to reach my lung. I felt like I was having asthma.

This is the first time I felt this when im on the bus. Luckily I didn’t asked the driver to stop. luckily I didn’t asked for plastic beg from the girl sitting next to me although my heart asked me to do so.

Im feeling much better now. im going for steamboat tonight at my friend’s house. Haha.

Oh, last week my ceiling bocor. Today my roommate said the light is not working. This means my room is gona be dark, both lights are not working. Damn!

On the other hand, my roomate’s girlfriend is coming over to have dinner with him. Hahaa. Chomelnya. Im gona blog about this later. =p

Okok got to go. my friends are waiting. N im hungry.

Must eat fast. Chat fast. Take pictures fast. Then go pay my house rental and study for midterm tomorrow.

BOM!

chasing after the bus

As im writing this post at 2.07pm, I’m on the bus back to Kampar. Something bad almost happened a few minutes ago. Im here gasping for air, almost suffocated.

My bus is at 2pm but I reached the bus at 2.04pm. I was late.

Something funny and unexpected happened. Let’s try to imagine one of the scenes in the movies what people do when they are late for bus. Some will cry. Some will run and chase after the bus. Some will call for a cab and try to catch the bus. And some will wait for the next bus.

Let me tell you my version and what happened. I was supposed to get out from my house at 1pm but I didn’t. I was busy packing and I left my place at 1.20pm. I knew im gona be late. The ferry will departs around 1.35pm. my mum was rushing, riding fast. I reached the terminal at 1.31pm. at that time, I saw a lot of people walking out from the ferry.

I said goodbye to my mum and ran like horse to the ferry. Luck is not on my side. I was just few seconds away when the ferry’s gate closed. Haih.. I was so pissed at myself. this situation has happened for few times. It happened the week before when I came back to Penang. It also happened last year and I had to spent more money to get the ticket for another bus.

So I waited ‘patiently’ at the waiting area by walking here and there, looking far for the ferry to arrive. I looked at my handphone. The digital clock was showing 1.40pm. the ferry was still so far away.

Seriously only God can help me at that time. I was really hoping for a miracle. The journey from Penang to Butterworth takes at least, the fastest is 15minutes. Then another 2minutes for the gate to open and run to the bus.

My mind went wild and over-creative. I was thinking, what should I do if I missed the bus. I planned to get a taxi and chase after the bus. Seriously. if I really missed the bus, that’s the only way I can do. I’ll bargain and I’ll only pay Rm5 to the taxi driver. When I see the bus, I’ll wave at the bus driver, stop the taxi in front of the bus or honk the bus to stop it. I really dun waste my $ to get another bus ticket. The ticket bought by my mum.

After few minutes the ferry arrived and left Penang at 1.50pm. oh God. im seriously super late. How I wished I could just fly there with a wing. I kept on looking at my handphone. The time passed so fast and the ferry was so slow.

Finally the ferry reached at 2.03pm. again, I ran as if im running for a marathon but with 2begs and a camera hanging on my neck. Everyone was looking wondering am I running away from the policemen. While reaching the bus stop, I can see my bus from far.

I prayed hard in my heart asking the bus not to go. I reached the station at 2.04pm The bus reversed to start its journey when I was few metres away from it. I knocked on the door but the driver didn’t seemed to bother. So I stood in front of the bus waved and waved. Finally he opened the door for me.

Fuh.. im glad I managed to get onto the bus. The bus was kind of full. Everyone was looking at me. haha. I cincai sit on the single seat. Suddenly another aunty stopped the bus. She was late too. Haha.

Transasional is the most punctual most I’ve ever took. Sometimes if you are late even for few seconds, you are gone. It’s a good thing actually especially for people like me.

Oh shit! I got to go. suddenly feel like throwing out so badly. Im gona black out. Bye.

~ 2.35pm.

Chin Eng on The Go

Chin Eng on The Go

Future Journalist has proven himself to be a real 'anak jati'

By Sharmilla Mohan

There are a lot of perceptions on how we should portray our identity as true Malaysians. One young lad has proven himself to be the best example of a true ‘anak jati’. He is Oh Chin Eng, 22, who is currently pursuing his degree in journalism in Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Kampar.

Born with two other siblings, this Penang born guy is the eldest son for Oh Kean Beng, 47, and Lee Seok Luan, 46.

Being an active student in both primary and secondary school, he was participative in most co-curricular activities such as forums, public speaking, photography competitions, debates, marching band competitions and many more. Besides that he held many posts in school such as the deputy head prefect, head section leader of PBSM, Commander of Board of Prefect and many more. His achievements in all those activities were uncountable. After completing his Form 6 education, Chin Eng worked for Universiti Sains Malaysia as a research assistant in heritage and cultural aspect in collaboration with the Penang Heritage Trust.

This down-to-earth bachelor describes himself as an appreciative person. He appreciates the food that he gets to eat every day, his circle of friends and everything that revolves around him. He also regards  himself as sensitive, sentimental, adventurous, sweet and cute, with two of the latter told with a grin in his face.

When asked about what three things that he never leaves behind when he steps out of the house, he answered that it would be his pen, hand phone and his digital camera. Those were the most essential things for him more than his wallet.

Most of us do write diary when we are free after a hectic day, but Chin Eng does it his way. He jots down whenever he feels like doing so in the notebook that he carries along with him. He even has his desktop filled with many documents till the extent that he sometimes has to spend time searching for the important ones.

Having photography as his passion, Chin Eng definitely has a bright future in the photojournalism field. According to him, his accomplishment in making it through until the national level in the photography competition in 2003 is what that inspired and motivated him to be more involved in photography.

When he was asked about which picture of his that he feels is the best among all and cherishes the most, he said “It is hard to point out which is the best. Every picture tells a different story. Every picture captures what we see and feel in life every single day.” Chin Eng also regards Steve McCurry of National Geographic as one of the best photojournalist that he looks up on.

When asked on how supportive his family has been with his choice of career in future, he said that they accept what he does. He added that they do worry and care for what he does, but they just don’t express it all the time.

Chin Eng cynically regarded himself as a ‘carepochi’ or also known as the act of being nosy. This is because he likes to go out and venture any new happenings, accidents or so on. One of the important events that he has attended is the 2008 election campaign at the Han Chiang College, Penang. This event was a turning point for the Malaysian political system as Pakatan Rakyat won more parliamentary seats than usual.

Besides that, he was also the first student journalist to reach the tragedy scene whereby three of the UTAR Kampar students drowned at the Batu Berangkai waterfalls. Chin Eng took the pride of being the one who torched Menteri Besar of Perak, Dato' Seri Dr. Zambry, into the jungle until they reached the place where the bodies were found.

Other than that, Chin Eng was also present to give moral support during the protest against the arrest of SIn Chew Press reporter, Tan Hoon Cheng.

In addition to that, Chin Eng also went for the ISA rally on the 1st of August 2009 which was held near the Sogo Shopping Complex in Kuala Lumpur. According to Chin Eng, tear gas and water cannon were released during the rally. Despite all this, he was pumped up to be present and show his support.

So far, Chin Eng has met numerous famous personalities throughout his experience of attending uncountable events. He has met Sharifah Armani, Tan Sri Dr. Koh Soo Koon, Karpal Singh, Lim Kit Siang, Dr. Chandra Muzaffar, Lim Swee Tin, Afdlin Shauki, Beh Lee Yi, Nicole Ann David and even former prime minister, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

As Chin Eng is aware of most political matters in Malaysia, his opinion mattered on who he thinks is the most respectful leader in Malaysia. Chin Eng firmly told that it can only be Malaysia’s 4th Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. Chin Eng personally loves Mahathir’s vision, contributions, ideas and analytical thinking.
Being a very patriotic person, Chin Eng agrees that Malaysian younger generations are not patriotic enough. If they were, they will all be very united, not going to the extent of discriminating people of other races and religions. He was quoted saying “Deep inside their hearts, they still have that stigma, the same mind set. If they are told to write an essay on patriotism, the outcome would be outstanding but in reality, I doubt it that they have the same passion and patriotism feel towards their country.”
What is actually his all time goal? Chin Eng stated that we live only once, thus we must try everything out. He added that we may not be excellent in a scale of 360°, but that should not be used as a rationale on why we should be so timid, shutting ourselves out from the real world.

According to him again, we achieve something out of every single effort that we make.
This young man with so much of achievement to be proud of, feels that recognitions of his works by others are his best achievement so far.
When a question on how he build his confidence was thrown to him, he deliberately answered, “I’m unsure if I’m confident or not. I just grab every opportunity that I obtain and work hard on it. I believe that no matter what I do, I just want to deliver my level best.”
This talented all-rounder expressed how fresh he feels this year. He is keeping his fingers crossed with the dream to organize his very own, solo photography exhibition by the end of this year.

fuh! it was really tiring. the whether was so terrible. we were acting under the hot sun from 10am until 8pm ok. tak larat betul.

but it's a great experience n exposure la. my most prominent character is a triad member. heheeh. i destroyed a food stall because the hawker didn't pay protection money. kakakaka.

im happy with my acting although i know im not that good yet la..

i got rm50. wheee... rm5 per hour.

my mum n sis came to kaypo n see what im doing. hahha.

okla wana oink oink d. im worn out. i have to wake up early tomorrow to attend an event at Hutton Lane then act again in the afternoon and go for Hot.fm concert at night.

QUOTE of the day

"Governments are bad masters if not made good servants."

~ Wong Chin Huat's blog
~ http://chinhuatw.wordpress.com/

* i like him more after he got arrested. now i like him even more because of this quote, because he;s still wearing black, because he's fighting for democracy and because he's coming to my university to give a talk.

1 photo $10 USD

i never imagine that to enter a photo contest, i have to pay $10 USD for just a photo. means that it's at least RM35 for a phot entry.

that is super expensive!

but tonight, i got the biggest love from God, someone, a gift from God, with a nice heart and nice soul, made a payment of $10 USD to the photo contest organiser. she's sponsoring me to enter the international level photo contest!

can u imagine that?!! this person is so nice. i was so shocked to received an e-mail from her showing me the receipt. my eyes almost poped out.

i'm really really touched. im thankful. im happy. im so grateful.

this is one of the best gifts i ever had.

she really look high up on me. she always give me advice when im lost. although she's like so far away from London, she's stil made the effort to meet up with me when she's back in Penang.

it's kinda funny how i met her. it was in Penang. it was at least 4 years ago i guess. someone was burning dried leaves. You guys know i hate people who do open burning right. so what i always do? i called police and bomba at that time. my hp ran out of credit. so i went around looking for people with handphone. that was the first time i met her. i feel so embarras right now. i was begging for hp ok. she n the rest were like kinda blur bcoz a small guy came with in a huge scooter asking for handphone to call bomba because someone is burning the leaves. I also asked for a bucket of water to 'padam' the api la.

so yea that's how i met her. after the incicent we bumped into each other again at different occasions. then i got her phone number. hey i didn't flirt ok. haha. she's older than me la. she's like my big sister ok. =p

she's nice la.. really nice. i'll remember her for the rest of my life for being the first person in my life to sponsor me for a photo contest. she has faith in me you know. she thinks i take nice pictures. hahaha.

Anyway, this is what friendship is all about. Friends are there for you without you asking. A relationship cannot be measure by how many times u say 'i love you' or 'i miss you but it's measure by your actions, sacrifices and non-verbal communications. Trust me, you'll know who's actually your friends when you are in trouble or when you need help, care, love, assistance, comfort etc.

Thank you so much Marie. God will always bless you.

nightmare during daytime

woah! i just woke up because my classmate called me.
if not i'll still be in my dream.

i must quickly write it down before i forget.

i had a nighmare actually and it happened during daytime.

hmmm.. i think it's because i didn't wash my legs before i sleep. She always tell me to wash my legs before sleep but i was too tired la just now.

furthermore, it's going to be Mahgrib now. eeee.. sacry.

let me tel you what happened. but i think you'll get the story more if you are from UTAR la.

The scene is in Penang. Weirdly i was heading to campus in Batu Ferringghi, a place that is very far from town. ok fine. i took public bus. on the way, i saw this orchard n it's guarded by machineguns n cctv everywhere. i duno why i went there. i just went kaypo la. Then i saw an animal, a very rare to see animal and i don;t even know what it is coz i think i didn't even exist.

Then suddenly im on the bus again. i  reached my campus with Yong and Sotong. My campus suddenly become so big, so long and so grand.Everyhting that happpend in my dream is so ridiculous. We hav a rule that someone cannot help others to bring their belongings. I went to canteen to eat and i passed my files and books to Yong.

after i eat, i walked along the corridor to find Yong. I found him so he passed me by things la. suddenly the guard was there and he wanted to give us summon. Sotong suddenly appeared. so 3 of us keep saying sorry, apologize and we promise won't do it again. i told he guard i asked Yong to hold my things because i left something in the canteen, so i went back to look for it.

the guard still not ok. I cannot tahan la. i said 'eleh ingat hang bagui sangat ka?' which means you thought you are so good is it?

The guard was so angry and he wanted to give us summon. the funny thing is the summon is in the form of a chop. i don't know where is he going to chop bt it's a chop, rubber stamp. zzz. so 3 of run la. we were like taking part in marathon. we ran like superman. we were so damn scared ok. it's like we are in the criminal; wanted list, as if we just murdered someone.

then i saw public bus in my campus. public bus cannot enter our campus actually. but it was there to pick up students. so we rushed onto the bus la. unfortunately i left my beg in the canteen. i went back to get my beg but i saw the guard and other guards were looking for us with guns. We were like criminals. so i have to keave my beg there lo.

and suddenly Haw Yeen appeared on the bus with us. zzz.. yeah, at the end we managed to escape lo.

i tell you my heart was throbbing but i couldn't wake up. luckily my classmate called me.

fuh... what kind of dream is this la.. ridiculous.

to act or sit for exam?

kiss by the crane

This is what i get for being so crazy run here and there just to snap photos during the Twa Pek Kong procession on last Sunday night. At the end, i banged and got knocked down by a crane. Look at the injuries and not my skinny bones.

This is not the first time i injured myself to get a shoot. I remember i fell into a mud when i tried to capture buffaloes and i fell from my bike when i was covering the 3 UTAR students who fell into the waterfall in Kampar.

PERIBAHASA of the day

Hujan sejuk di negeri orang, hujan panas di negeri sendiri, lebih baik tak payah hujan.

back to sauna

Arrrghhh! Walaeuh! Kanasai!  cOkodok basi!

Kampar is so damn hot. Im burning! Im burning! Call bomba NOW!!

Gila oooooooo… the whole Kampar is like sauna. I feel the heat once I step down from the bus. It's also hot even in my room with the fan on to the maximum.

I tell you har Penang is so much cooler although got sunlight. You don’t feel hot in Penang. Yeah you’ll sweat a bit if u r under the sun for a long time but Penang got wind n cool breeze.

Kampar??! Kampar gives you heat! As if you are staying in the sauna. I feel like ayam panggang or itik panggang or roasted pork. It’s so heaty until all my fat burns out. No sweat u noe but it’s all fat.

People I tell you please don’t waste your money go sauna! Come to Kampar! Gerenti lu syok syok belisyiok!

PANAS! PANAS! PANAS SAMPAI… panas macam kari Baba’s. Kari Alagappa's also not bad, quite spicy.

Anyway Oh ya, it’s raining here. Hot water mia rain. Yeah… HOT! Hujan panas.

I know you heard of this peribahasa before “hujan emas di negeri orang, hujan batu di negeri sendiri, lebih baik juga di negeri sendiri."

Now we change a bit to ‘hujan sejuk di tempat lain, hujan panas di tempat saya, lebih baik tak payah hujan.”

When is this gona end? If not, hot till kepala boleh pecah!

DON'T SAY I NEVER WARN U HAR PEOPLE. IF I SEE YOU SIMPLY BURN YOUR RUBBISH OR WHATSOEVER SHIT, IM GONA F YOU THEN I'LL CALL POLICE AND BOMBA AND ETC LA!!

tak mau balik

i don't want to go back to Kampar la. TAK MAU la..........

someone please use your supernormal power to move UTAR Kampar to Penang la.

Penang is so happening and has so much to give la.

i can get anything i want here form A - Z.

I MISS EVERYTHING ABOUT PENANG LA!!!

i pass the casting (part 1)

Yes I pass tv drama the casting. I’ll talk about the casting later. Now I wana talk about something else.

I didn’t tell my mum I went for the casting. Usually I’ll only tell her after I achieve something or I’ll hint her that I’m joining something. Paiseh ma..

So just now I told my mum that there’ll be a shooting in Khoo Kongsi this March and I’ll come back again to act. She was like huh?? She said no because I’ll be skipping classes and I’m so busy this month.

Mum asked me worth it meh 1 hour RM5. I said it’s not because of the money la. she said ‘then what? If not money then you wana show off?”

Zzz.. speechless. This is a great opportunity la..

How many times in your life can you act on TV? Or how many of you got the guts to go for any type of auditions?

This is not only about fame and pride but it’s an opportunity, experience, networking and it’s an achievement. Now I have the chance that not everyone will get and this is what I want, how can I just let it slip away.

Before I go for the audition, im worried that they won’t even let me try because I can’t read Chinese. Then during the audition, I’m worried that they won’t take me. now after the casting, mum said cannot go.

The problem now is I already got it. The casting manager said ‘ok you are in. I’ll call you to let you know your schedule.’

Haih I know I don’t have the time la. seriously I am busy everyday until 1st of April. March is a month that full of mid term tests, assigment deadlines, and presentations. I’m also busy with the audition of The Amazing Race Asia,  shooting the video, go for the audition etc. Besides, I’ll be travelling to KL few times for seminars and for TARA.

I'm spending 3times more this Feb-April. aih..

Haih  I xtaula. I’ll try to split my time. If reali kenot, kehave to give up lo.

Anyway, REZEKI JANGAN DITOLAK.

QUOTE of the day

Penang is so happening tonight.

There are two Chap Goh Meh celebrations in town. Then there's also a religious activity at Tanjung Tokong which is Cheah Hnoay, Flame-Watching ceremony.

It's so nice to be back in Penang this weekend and be part of the history.

helmet of helmet

This is a story about my helmet. One of the reasons I came back to Penang is to get a new helmet.

i live on an island

after almost 3 hours on the bus, 30 minutes waiting for ferry, 20 minutes on the ferry and 15 minutes on motorbike, finally i am home.

it just feels so nice to be back again.

believe me or not, im not sick anymore. hahaha.

im not sure whether you realised or not, Penangites are so proud of their island especially ME!!

yes i am proud of Penang, the tiny island that has so much to give and has produced a lot of achievements.

this is the place where i grow and live since i was born.

no where else feels more like home. it's so calm n stress free to be on the island.

just ask me anything about Penang and i think i can answer you.

If you want to avoid the traffic, u can use the shortcuts n backlanes.

Penang has everything that you are looking for.

Nature, politics, industrial, sports, religious activities, cultural celebration, food, heritage, entertainment etc ect.

I still remember a friend telling me that she was so skeptical and scared that our Penang bridge will collapsed when she came to Penang for the first time. hahaha.

This is where i belong. I was born here and i'll die here.
